Lake Day!

10:00 am - 9:00 pm

You're invited to join the bride and groom for a bit of an after-party in the form of a casual lake day! Feel free to drop in at any point in the day and hang out. We'll be renting pontoon boats, and the resort also has other rentals available (like kayaks, paddle boards, etc). You're welcome to relax on the shore if that's more your speed. In the evening we'll be barbecuing, so let us know if you'll be able to make it!

Travel & Lodging

We invite our guests to join us overnight for a lakeside getaway, whether you live locally or are traveling from out of town. Lodging options at Lake of The Woods Resort include cabins, tent camping, and RV parking. If you choose to camp, please note that the Aspen Point campground is the one closest to where our wedding will take place. If you are interested in booking a cabin, please see the next section for more information! If you are traveling from out of town but do not wish to stay at the resort, the nearest hotels are located in White City, about a 45 minute drive from the lake. The nearest airport is about a one hour drive from the lake, in Medford, and there are plenty of hotel options in the area. Please be aware that there are no rideshare/taxi or public transit options available at the lake. Alcohol will be served at the wedding; if you plan to drink please coordinate a designated driver ahead of time or plan to stay at the resort lodging overnight.

They can be booked by calling the resort at (541)-949-8300 (let them know you are a guest of the Wilson-Richardson wedding). We recommend checking out the cabins on the website to make sure they're a good fit for your group before calling to make a reservation. Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We want you to feel comfortable and confident, so please wear something that makes you feel good. The event will be relatively formal (please no PJs or sweats), and you are free to dress as fancy as you would like! At the same time, you may want to keep in mind that the weather will be warm and you will (hopefully) be dancing. Both the ceremony and the reception will take place outdoors, so we definitely advise wearing sunscreen and appropriate footwear (stilettoes not recommended).

Question

Are children allowed at the wedding?

Answer

Yes. If your family received an invitation, it should have included your kids. When you RSVP online you should see your entire group listed. If you believe anyone is missing please contact the bride or groom. It’s important to note that while children are welcome at the wedding, it is not necessarily catered towards children. It is especially important that parents/guardians are aware that the event takes place directly beside a large body of water. You will need to be very aware of your child and ensure their safety at all times.

Question

Can I take pictures/videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We ask that you please keep all phones and cameras put away during the ceremony. We have enlisted the services of a very talented photographer and he will be capturing the ceremony. We would love for you to remain present in the moment with us! Take as many photos as you like during the reception! However, we kindly request that you refrain from posting photos of the event on social media until the bride and groom have had a chance to announce the wedding/share photos online. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and cooperation!

Question

I’m not sure what the best option for lodging is for my group. What should I do?

Answer

Please reach out to the bride and groom! We are happy to give you some guidance on your travel plans. We know it can be difficult to make arrangements when you are not familiar with the area.

Question

Will I need my ID for the bar?

Answer

Yes! The resort will be managing alcohol service at the wedding and IDs are required for all guests who wish to partake.

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

We feel very lucky to have the things we need and have chosen not to create a gift registry. Your presence at our wedding is the best gift we could ask for! We welcome cards and small homemade gifts. If you are feeling extra generous, we would love for you to make a small donation to one of these local organizations doing amazing work in our community: Portland Street Medicine (Amber volunteers with this organization!): https://www.portlandstreetmedicine.org/donate-today The Q Center: https://www.pdxqcenter.org/donate The Lilith Clinic: https://www.gofundme.com/f/awc-abortion-access-fund Pueblo Unido PDX: https://www.pueblounidopdx.org/how-to-donate
