It was the summer after senior year and we were both just the age of 17. We both were at kickoff to summer party at a mutual friend’s house when I heard a voice say “who wants to come with me to jiffy check?” Not sure what came over me but I turned around and said “I do!” In that instant, the first thing I noticed was Alex’s big, bright smile. You guys know which one I’m talking about. The one where his eyes squint just so (totally adorable) and that was the beginning of a really beautiful friendship that transformed into true everlasting love Fast forward to college where we both went to separate schools yet found each other again after he helped me move back home and out of my apartment in Hattiesburg. He was so sweet and lifted so many heavy things that day and all those stairs!! He treated me to lunch before driving us both safely back to the coast. He did it all with a smile. It was then I noticed the depth of Alex and just how big his heart really was. Once we began to date a bit more seriously, we still each had quite a bit of growing up to do. We did it together. Over the past several years we’ve learned each other’s needs, what makes us tick, what upsets us, what inspires one another, the good and bad, we discovered it all. Together. The Lord has truly blessed us with each other & our families and we walk by faith knowing we will never be alone again.
