Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.
There will be hors d'oeuvre and a welcome cocktail, followed by a family-style dinner (with vegetarian options), lots of wine, and cake.

There are a few hotels in Gainesville, but Airbnb is likely a better bet to be close to our venue. Try to book early either way.

Flights
Gainesville Regional Airport is the closest, about 15 minutes from our venue. It has direct flights from Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, and Charlotte on American Airlines and Delta. Jacksonville International Airport is about 1.5 hours from our venue and has direct flights from most cities. Orlanda and Tampa International Airports are both 2 hours from our venue and also have direct flights from most cities.

Sweetwater Wetlands
One of our favorite parks in the area! Great for an early morning outing. You'll definitely run into quite a bit of wildlife including gators!
Thomas Center
A very special place for us. We frequent this park and love to just come and sit in the grass under the giant live oak trees. This is also where we got engaged!
DJ's Cast Iron Burgers
The burgers at this place are insanely delicious - by far our favorite food in Gainesville! Easiest if you place an online order ahead of time!
Afternoon
Great brunch place with amazing baked goods. Highly recommend the house yogurt!
Cypress & Grove Brewing Company
A great brewery that hosts a farmers market on Mondays! We loved walking here and playing pool (while drinking some of their house seltzer).
Bragging Rights Amusements
We love the area around where we lived and this is one of the coolest arcades we've been to! It's unique because you pay to enter and it's all you can play after that - no need to fill up on tokens! If you're more of a board games kind of person, there's a great board game shop right next door called Punk Outer.

Noticing a trend? Another awesome upper scale "fast food" with absolutely amazing fried chicken.

Is this event also your wedding ceremony?
Answer
No! We are getting married privately in September, before this reception. We can't wait to celebrate with you.
Question
Will a formal dinner be served?
Answer
Yes! Come hungry. We will have family-style platters following hors d'oeuvres. Cake will follow.

Alcohol?
Answer
Also yes! Our venue is a wine shop and restaurant, so plenty of fantastic wine will be poured. We will also have beer and zero-proof options.

Will the event be inside or outside?
Answer
Our reception will be outside. December in Florida tends to be mild, with temperatures between 50-70 degrees.

Is your reception child-friendly?
Answer
We love all the children in our families, but prefer children under 15 do not attend.
