Flight
The closest airport is located in Florence Italy. From Florence airport it is about a 1 hr drive to Lajatico. You can also fly into Milan or Rome. Flights could be cheaper at the different airports depending on when you book your flight. You can rent a car from any of the airports. Happy to help with the details :)
Travel Note
The location of the wedding is La Vallata in Lajatico. If you google the location for hotel availability, you will find mostly bed and breakfasts that you can book. Here are a few recommended by our resort hosts: Hotel Porta Valdera (https://hotelportavaldera.com/ ) Il Colle (https://www.agriturismoilcolle.it/ ) Il Selvino (https://www.ilselvino.com/ ) You can also go on air bnb or VRBO and type in Lajatico, it will pull up multiple options to book in the surrounding area. I’m happy to help you find lodging if you have any trouble. - Megan
Bridesmaid
Brittney and I have been friends for over 12 years. She is Married to Andy and they have 2 beautiful children. Brittney is the kindest best person I know and has been one of my biggest cheerleaders in life. I am so excited to have her be by my side on my wedding day :)
Maid of Honor
Kayleigh is my amazing daughter and I could not be more honored for her to be my maid of honor. She is my rock and I could not imagine life without her :)
Bridesmaid
I met Jen in early 2011 when I started working on the same unit she was on. We immediately became sisters and work wives and have been inseparable since. She is also my travel buddy and we have been to some really amazing countries together. She is married to Roddy and they have 2 boys :)
Bridesmaid
Jenny and I met in college in 2005. We played Softball there together. We formed a sisterhood immediately and we have been bestfriends since. We have supported each other through many life events and I am so lucky to have someone like Jenny by my side on my big day! She is married to Ray and they have 1 daughter.
Mother of the Groom
Without Joann, our dream of getting married in Italy wouldn’t be possible. From the very first time we met, I felt an instant connection. She’s the kind of future mother-in-law you hope and dream for: warm, generous, and full of love. I’m so incredibly grateful for the way she and Cam have welcomed me, Kayleigh and Austin into their family with open arms and open hearts. Joann, There truly aren’t enough words to express how thankful we are for you. Your kindness and support mean the world to us, and because of you, this wedding is becoming everything we dreamed it could be. We love you so much! ❤️
Reminder to make sure you have a passport and double check to ensure it is not due to expire while you are in Italy. If you do not have passport, I suggest applying for one at least 6 month before your flight.
Our wedding will take place under the Tuscan sun, surrounded by vineyards, cypress trees, and centuries-old stone. To match the beauty of the setting, we kindly suggest Garden Formal attire—refined, yet relaxed and comfortable. Our color palette is inspired by the landscape and spring season: soft shades of pastels. While there’s no dress code for colors, feel free to let the scenery and palette inspire your look. 🌍 **Friends traveling from around Europe and Scandinavia—**we would be honored if you wish to wear your traditional or cultural dress. We welcome the beauty and diversity you bring to our celebration!
