All You Need To Know

How This Destination Wedding Thing Works

FINALLY! Lynzi and Megan have signed their room agreement for their celebration at the El Dorado Rolyale adults only resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Now that we have finalized a room agreement, we can share final cost details that will help you plan more concretely for joining us on our big day. As a reminder of how all of this works, you will first need to pay a room deposit of $100 per room or $50 per person based on double occupancy. The deposit will go towards the full cost of your room. As soon as Megan and Lynzi receive confirmation of the start of the 30-day window you have to pay your room deposit, they will share instructions with you on how to do so. **Only one person per room can make the $100 deposit. That person will register for each person staying in the room. The deadline to make your room deposit is October 18, 2023.** Once your deposit is payed, you will have multiple options to complete full payment for your room. You may choose to pay the full cost of your stay upfront or you can choose to do a payment plan that fits your needs, including a plan that extends past the trip itself. The final agreement pricing for the El Dorado Royale resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico are: Single-Occupancy in the junior luxury suite is $787 (4-day/3-night) and $1,283 (6-day/5-night) Double-Occupancy in the luxury junior suite is $538 per person (4-day/3-night) and $868 per person (6-day/5-night) Triple-Occupancy in the junior suite is $523 per person (4-day/3-night) and $843 per person (6-day/5-night) An upgrade option is available for a Casita Suite. See the booking page for pricing. Per the agreement, you must be present on Friday, September 13th and the required minimum length of your stay must be 4-day/ 3-night, meaning everyone must be present from Friday, September 13th to Monday, September 16th. From this required minimum, you can customize your stay in whatever way you'd like by adding additional days to your stay for a discounted rate. For example, you may choose to stay for 5 days and 4 nights or 7 days and 6 nights at an additional charge of approximately $180-$185 per person, per night. You will need to indicate at the time of paying your deposit how long you will be staying at the resort. If for any reason you need or desire to change your length of stay after making your deposit, you can do so until June 2024. Please remember two things as you continue to budget and plan to join us in Mexico: 1) Your all-inclusive stay at the resort includes all food, beverages including alcohol, and many fun experiences and activities provided by the resort. 2) You are responsible for arranging your flights to and from Cancún, Mexico, and the resort will provide a shuttle to and from the resort. You can arrange flights as soon or as late as you need. See some of our tips and tricks for booking your flight in the travel section below. Megan and Lynzi estimate that the total cost for two people, including airfare, will be approximately $3,000 or less depending on length of stay and flight costs. And because Megan and Lynzi's financial obligation is based on those who RSVP'd as attending, we ask that you remain as excited and committed as possible to attending! Keep your eyes open for a message from DestinationWeddings.com with room deposit information in the coming weeks. We're so excited to have you with us in Mexico! Travel

You are welcome to book any flight of your choice - we know that some of y'all prefer particular airlines! The destination that you will be flying to is Cancún, Mexico. The resort will provide a shuttle service to and from the airport, so there is no need to worry about additional transportation. Tips and Tricks: If you are a member of AAA, Costco, BJs, Sam's Club, or any other member based group, be sure to check out the travel deals they might have and the ways they might assist you in booking your flights. Tips and Tricks: Flights are typically the least expensive four months through three weeks prior to travel. This means tickets may be at their best prices between May and August 2024. Tips and Tricks: Many airlines release sales on Tuesdays, so as you plan keep this in mind!

Registry

Last year Megan and Lynzi started a new tradition, that on holidays and special occasions they would gift each other experiences instead of "things." It is a hope and dream for them to build a family together and their journey to parenthood, either through IVF or adoption, will not be easy. Your presence with us is gift enough and, if you feel so moved, we invite you to join us in our new tradition and consider contributing to our parenthood fund. Because what's better than helping us have the experience of being parents!? If you do choose to contribute, please leave the note "Parenthood Fund" in the transaction so that we can track gifts appropriately.

FAQs

We want to provide as much information as possible so that everyone can have what they need to mindfully consider if they can join us in Mexico and to prepare for traveling to our celebration!
Question

What do I need to travel?

Answer

You need a passport in order to travel to Mexico. If you do not have a passport or need to renew, we suggest doing so as soon as possible. It can take up to 3-6 months or longer to get your passport or renewal, meaning that if you do not do so by January 2024 there is a possibility you might not get your documents in time to join us. Find more information about passport applications and renewals here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html You do not need to be vaccinated or show proof of vaccination to travel, nor will you need to quarantine upon arrival to the resort. Please travel with and bring any additional items you need to feel safe and comfortable, such as masks or COVID tests.

Question

What do I need to budget for?

Answer

You will need to budget for the cost of the room deposit, stay at the resort, flight to Cancún, and travel documents if you don't already have them. Right now, Megan and Lynzi estimate that the total cost for two people, including airfare, will be approximately $3,000 or less.

Question

What is included in my resort stay?

Answer

All food, beverages including alcohol, and most experiences and activities are included in your resort stay. There may be restaurants and activities that are not included in your stay at the resort, and you are free to visit them at an additional cost. To learn more about what's included visit https://www.karismahotels.com/el-dorado-spa-resorts/royale and click "experiences" at the top of the webpage.

Question

How do I get to the resort from the airport?

Answer

You do not need to find any extra transportation. The resort provides a shuttle service that will transport you to and from the airport.

Question

What should I Wear to the Wedding?

Answer

You should wear something casual and comfortable! The wedding ceremony will take place on the beach and the vibe we are going for is relaxed, romantic, bohemian. Think breathable fabrics in designs such as a maxi or sundress, romper, casual button down or blouse, chinos, and sandals. All we ask is that you do not come to the ceremony in your bathing suit - even though it looks great on you!

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Please do not bring any gifts with you to Mexico. We consider your presence to be the best gift!

Question

What if I can't attend?

Answer

We understand that attending our wedding may not be possible for everyone. And while we will be sad to not have you there on our big day, we are planning to host a larger reception stateside in April of 2025. Those details are still in the works and it also means that you will have another opportunity to join us in celebrating our marriage (and our birthdays)!

Question

More Questions?

Please feel free to reach out to Megan and Lynzi if you have more questions about how to plan for their big day.
