Flights and Travel Information

Flights and Travel Information

Your best flight options include Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, NV or St. George Regional Airport in St. George, UT. Feel free to fly into any airport you like, these are just the closest options. We will be flying into Las Vegas because they offer cheaper direct flights, but it is approximately two and a half hours away from where we will be staying. If you do not plan on renting a car, please mention this in the RSVP questions and we will do everything in our power to coordinate your ride to and from the airport.

Attire Suggestions

Wed, Mar 13, 2024, 4:00 pm - Sun, Mar 17, 2024, 10:00 am

Our main goal for this entire trip is for our guests to be comfortable and enjoy themselves. Our suggestions are that you dress comfortably, possibly in outdoorsy attire, if you plan on enjoying the beautiful national and state parks in the area. Pictures will be taken throughout the trip but the only ones that you may feel more comfortable dressing up for are the ones taken later in the day on March 15th during the wedding dinner/festivities. One business casual outfit is more than enough for the trip (khakis/slacks, button down shirt/polo/blouse, dress/skirt). We will be wearing a wedding dress and a suit on the day of. That being said, we cannot stress enough that your attendance and comfort means more to us than anything and you are welcome to wear whatever you'd like for the entirety of the trip. The weather should be in the mid sixties and there is a private hot tub as well as a nearby pool, so remember to bring your bathing suit.

Costco Run

Wed, Mar 13, 2024, 4:00 pm - Sun, Mar 17, 2024, 10:00 am

We will be making a Costco run to stock the Airbnb with everything we think we'll be needing for the trip. If you have any specific items you would like picked up and/or any dietary restrictions we need to be aware of, please make sure this is annotated in the RSVP questions. We will be stocking the Airbnb with snacks, breakfast, and lunch food but just how much food will be determined by how many people express that they will take advantage of this. Once the fridge has been stocked, please feel free to cook and eat anything you'd like at any time of day. This food is provided by us in an attempt to keep your costs as low as possible. WE WOULD MUCH RATHER SEE FOOD GET EATEN AND HAVE TO RESTOCK THAN WATCH IT ALL GO TO WASTE! This is your vacation as well as ours so feel free to eat any meals separately from the group, the only mandatory meal is our wedding dinner on March 15th.

Arrival Meal

6:00 pm

Upon our arrival at the Airbnb, once some guests have started trickling in, we will get a general consensus on pizza and salad preferences for dinner the evening of March 13th. The food will picked up and brought back to the Airbnb for guests to eat at their leisure as they are getting settled in.

Escape Room

5:15 pm

https://escapism-escaperoom.com/

DUE TO MULTIPLE GUESTS NOT BEING ABLE TO ATTEND THE ESCAPE ROOM ON SATURDAY IT HAS BEEN MOVED TO THURSDAY EVENING AT 5:15PM. We will be reserving 3 rooms at a nearby escape room for our guests to participate in with us. All of our reserved rooms will be going head to head to see who can escape first. To participate it costs $30 per person, but depending on the number of guests we have that want to participate, there are discounts for large groups. The final cost for each person will be determined upon our arrival to Escapism. The rooms will start at 5:30pm but we ask that everyone tries to arrive at 5:15pm so that everyone can pay and go over the rules before we start. If you would like to participate, please RSVP.

Photos

1:00 pm

On our wedding day we will be heading out to Zion National Park to take pictures with everyone in their hiking attire before we take intimate photos of just the two of us. All guests are welcome to hike, explore the park, and join in for pictures, but it is entirely voluntary. Zion National Park has week long passes that cost $35 per vehicle but veterans get in for free so if we car pool correctly this may save on cost for our guests. After we have gotten the pictures we want, we will be heading back to the Airbnb to allow everyone to change for a short wedding ceremony followed by dinner and games. While we are getting dinner set up, guests will be asked to take pictures with our personalized national parks sign and to sign the back of it. We welcome you to take all the pictures you can of us, yourselves, and each other and upload them to our virtual wedding album so that we can include them in our guest book. More details on this will be provided on the day of.

Wedding Ceremony

4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Our wedding is a little unconventional, but we have decided to include a small ceremony on the outdoor patio of the Airbnb. This decision was made possible due to the kindness of our friend Dan Mercure, who so generously agreed to officiate for us. Hopefully this website helps give you an idea of the events to come. Our main focus is a fun vacation with friends and family, with a few wedding events that we deemed important to celebrate with you thrown in!

Wedding Dinner

6:00 pm

The only mandatory meal of the trip is our Wedding Dinner. Dinner will be picked up from the caterers and served at the Airbnb. The meal for the evening is as follows: festive garden salad, zucchini, squash, and carrot medley with fresh herbs, shallot and herb rolls, garlic mashed new red potatoes, marsala chicken with a white wine cream sauce, sliced garlic and black pepper beef brisket, two flavors of Bundt cake, and various alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Dinner will be served buffet style. If anyone in your party has annotated dietary restrictions in the RSVP questions, we will reach out to you with an alternative menu that accommodates those restrictions.

Games

7:45 pm

We know suitcase space is limited, but if you can fit it, we welcome you to bring your favorite games for all of us to play and enjoy throughout the trip. There will be a set time to play games on the evening of our wedding after dinner. We assume we'll be seeing a large amount of card games, so if you have extra space, we would love a variety of board games as well.

Saturday Dinner Reservations

7:00 pm

We will be making dinner reservations at one of the nearby restaurants for Saturday, March 16th. Each guest will be expected to pay for their own dinner. If you would like to attend, please RSVP. We will be celebrating Megan's birthday during this dinner. Check back on the website under this headline after the RSVP deadline of February 1st for restaurant information. A restaurant cannot be decided on until we have a head count and can find a restaurant that is able to accommodate us. If upon learning of the restaurant, you wish to not attend, please contact us at 248-880-0175. Dinner this evening will be at The Grille at Sand Hollow Resort. Their address is 5662 West Clubhouse Drive, Hurricane, UT 84737. https://sandhollowresort.com/the-grille/

Thank you!

10:00 am

Last but not least, thank you! We recognize that we wouldn't be able to plan such a special trip without you. We hope that you find all the time, effort, and money spent attending our wedding to be worth it.

Registry

Your attendance is gift enough, but if you would like to and are financially about to contribute to our life together, these are a few things we'd love to have in our home. We recognize these items may be outside of your budget, so don't feel obligated to purchase from this list. If you find something that you think we would use or want, we welcome you to stray from the registry. Both of us have a pretty established amount of home items, so cash is also a very welcome gift to help us keep traveling. With suitcase space being limited, we ask that any large gifts for the wedding and/or Megan's birthday be sent to our home address listed on the invitation envelope or given to us personally back in Michigan.

Things To Do

A lot of time and effort went into picking the perfect location for everyone to come together and celebrate. We chose Hurricane, UT because it is surrounded by some gorgeous parks that will allow for some great pictures and viewing by us and our guests. Some of these parks include, Sand Hollow State Park, Snow Canyon State Park, Zion National Park, and many others the further out you go. We planned some optional events throughout the trip but we welcome you to take some time away from the group and explore the area, make this your own vacation! After we check out from the Airbnb on Sunday we will be spending a few days in Las Vegas before our flight back. Feel free to plan something with us if you decide to incorporate Vegas into your trip!
