Kyle and I both moved to Virginia during our sophomore year of high school. I moved in with my dad and his family moved because his father was in the AirForce. At the start of the school year he came to talk to me and tried to tell me that he was also from New Mexico. I didn't believe him. It was too random. I then had people start to ask me if I knew "the other New Mexico kid". Turns out he actually did move from Alamogordo and we went to rival high schools. One day we went to the movies and realized pretty quickly that we had the same sense of humor after making fun of the movie we were watching pretty much the whole time. We became best friends pretty soon after that. We started officially dating our senior year of high school and decided to do long distance over our time in college. Over the next 4 years we took turns making the 12 hr trip from Virginia to Alabama whenever our scheduled allowed it. After almost 6 years later we finally got to be together and rented our first home together in Virginia. Since then we've lived in 5 states together and raised a puppy and kitty together. In 2020 unbenounced to me he got a ring and decided to propose. My sister came from Virginia to spend a weekend with me in Ohio which didn't raise any suspicions. All three of us rented a cabin and spent the weekend in Hocking Hills. A giant rain storm hit and most of the trails were closed. Kyle was stressing out the entire time and I couldn't figure out why he was so worried about us being able to hike. Not so subtle clues were continued to be dropped the entire weekend and I still didn't know. This ranged from "Meagan we should wear make up to go hiking" to "Meagan let's go back to that pretty waterfall." I didn't make it easy for either of them but under the waterfall Kyle turned to me and I finally caught on. I blacked out the rest so I can't tell you what he said but the important part is I did say yes. :)
