Semi-Formal or Cocktail Attire: Suits, gowns, cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks.
The ceremony will take place on the large lawn overlooking the harbor. Please be mindful of footwear and the weather as we will be outdoors on grass. Shuttles will take guests from the Hawthorne Hotel to the Gables for the ceremony, and return them back to the Hawthorne for the reception. We ask that you park at the Hawthorne Hotel as parking is limited at the Gables. We want all our guests to be able to attend without the stress of driving through the tight streets of Salem!

Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served upstairs in the Essex Wing immediately following guests' return from the ceremony. Elevators are available. Following cocktail hour, the reception will begin at 6:30pm in the Ballroom on the main floor. Dinner will be served with dancing and festivities to follow. We look forward to celebrating and dancing with all of you!

If staying the night in Salem, please join us for breakfast in Nathaniel's. There is no pressure to attend, but of course we'd love to see you, say farewell, and thank you for celebrating with us.

We stop here every time we are in town. It is worth walking through to remember what happened long ago.
More than just witches and spookiness!! Take the witchcraft walk, general Salem history tour, or movie filming locations tour to spend some time with the history of the town!
Not into the witches? Spend some time by the water! Walk around the wharf, pop into the different shops, and enjoy some good seafood instead. Enjoy the view of the Friendship of Salem and even take a walk onto the ship during its open hours.

The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00pm. Please plan on arriving with enough time before to ensure that you have time to be seated and comfortable. We recommend around 4:30-4:45pm at the House of the Seven Gables.
Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
Parking is available at both the ceremony and reception venues. However, we do recommend parking at the Hawthorne Hotel, as the parking at the House of the Seven Gables is limited. We will be providing shuttles to and from the Hawthorne for guests.
While we are limiting the rehearsal dinner guest list to those who will be playing a role in the ceremony, the bride and groom along with the wedding party will be enjoying a quick "night-before drink" with hotel guests at the Tavern in the Hawthorne Hotel.
The ceremony will be taking place in an outdoor garden looking over the water. The reception will be held indoors.
After the ceremony, the wedding party will be taking pictures with family then joining the rest of the guests. Guests can head straight to the Hawthorne Hotel where we will be serving light food and beverages during a cocktail hour on the second floor.
Both the ceremony and reception locations are wheelchair accessible. The Hawthorne Hotel has an elevator to accommodate wheelchairs.
