Our Story
Hello, Welcome to our wedding website! We would love to share a bit about our story. Back in 2014 while in sophomore year of college, we met at a friend's party. Shortly after, we realized that we were dorm neighbors, and we started spending time together. As they say, the rest was history. Last July, Chris proposed in front of a beautiful LBI sunset, which was meaningful because we vacation in LBI every summer with Chris' family and it is one of our favorite places. Today, we own a lovely home in a peaceful part of Northern NJ, where we live with our 2 dogs. As a couple, we have been lucky to fill 10 years together with beautiful memories, love, laughter and fun. One detail about us is we share a passion for skiing & snowboarding. This is why we are so excited to get married at Mountain Creek Resort, which we consider to be our home mountain for our winter sports. For it to become our wedding venue feels perfect! The Appalachian at Mountain Creek

Question
How do we get to and back from the ceremony?
Answer
Guests board the Cabriolet, which is Mountain Creek's gondola. The Cabriolet is located right next to the Red Tail Lodge and Appalachian Hotel. The Cabriolet uses an easy, slow loading and unloading process. It is attended by Mountain Creek employees. Up to 8 people can ride in each lift. You will stand in the lift, which will be enclosed the entire time. Fear of heights? You can request a chair to sit on in the gondola. The gondola ride is about 6 minutes long and is a smooth ride. Along the way, you can have some fun and enjoy the scenic views of the mountain and surrounding valley! After the ceremony ends, we will all board the Cabriolet again and ride down to the Red Tail Lodge. See image above- this is the Cabriolet.

What are the parking details?
Answer
The parking lot is located in front of the Red Tail Lodge, on the same side as the mountain and buildings. This lot is reserved exclusively for our wedding guests. You do NOT have to park in the lots across the street. Hotel guests will have access to a gated parking garage next to the hotel.

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?
Answer
The ceremony is outdoor. Despite this, the necessity to walk on grass does not occur at any point. The cocktail hour, reception, and after party are indoor.

Is there an open bar?
Answer
The cocktail hour and reception are open bar. The after party is cash bar. Note: Mountain Creek is a cashless resort. They accept credit and debit cards, including Apple Pay.

What weather should I expect?
Answer
Sunday, May 25th falls during Memorial Day Weekend. Vernon Valley temperature on this date historically ranges between 52 to 71 degrees F. There is 65% chance it will not rain.

Things To Do Nearby
Warwick Valley Winery, Distillery & Orchard
This is a beautiful winery, cidery, distillery, and orchard. They offer patio and lawn seating, a small store, and you can purchase food. On weekends they also often host live music.
Pennings Farm Market
A great farm store, cidery, and orchard. Visit their cidery and orchard at the top of the hill, and/or stop at the base of the hill for their farm store and beer garden. Both are great spots to hang out. Both have parking, or you can walk between.
Warwick Drive-In Theater
At this location you can experience a drive-in movie theater. See a movie the old fashioned way! There are 3 screens, and they have a small concession stand. Very classic. A fun day would be to visit the Warwick Valley Winery and/or Pennings Farm Market, then see a drive-in movie.
Alias Brew Works
Check out the new brewery located only 5 minutes from Mountain Creek. They just opened this past year, and we have only heard good things!
Stairway To Heaven Hike
A popular nearby hike if you are looking for something active. Round trip, this Appalachian Trail segment is about 2.5 miles. The panoramic view at the top is quite beautiful! After, you may want to stop at Heaven Hill Farm Market, which is across the street.
Great Gorge Golf Club
For golfers, you can schedule a round here. An alternative is to play Crystal Springs Golf Club (Minerals or Cascades) which is also very close to Mountain Creek.
The Chocolate Goat Gift Shoppe
This is a fun chocolate & gift shop located in historic Lafayette, NJ. While you are here, you can check out the surrounding shops next door and across the street. These include multiple antique shops, a cozy book store, a shop filled with handcrafted local goods (Brick and Mortar- and Jessica's personal favorite), and a tasty café. A riverbank runs through the historic downtown, completing the charming feel to the quaint shopping area.
Woodbury Common Premium Outlets
This is an open-air shopping complex featuring 250 stores offering discount, brand name merchandise. They offer stores from Nike to Gucci. It is actually one of the largest outlet shopping centers in the world. The outlets are about 40 minutes away from Mountain Creek Resort, and if you like shopping it would be easy to spend a day here.
