In 2021, Rachel and Ross met for the first time at IKEA in Palo Alto. He broke the ice by pretending to run a cooking show in the kitchen section. After walking through all the sections, they bonded more at the IKEA food court over Swedish meatballs and chicken tenders while she had to attend class via zoom. Two and a half years later, Ross chose to take it to the next level by purchasing an engagement ring. After Rachel graduated from the BSN nursing program, Ross asked Rachel's father, mother, and Ate for blessings to marry her. Once he received their blessings, he planned to propose before her 34th birthday. Ross successfully got the "Yes, I'll marry you" at the Carquinez Strait Trail and took Rachel through a full day of celebrating with lunch, dinner, and a Kehlani concert with seats right next to the stage!
