Matthew and Tamia met during their freshman year of college at Penn State Harrisburg. They had their first talk about getting together at Penn State Harrisburg's stone garden. On Oct 19, 2018, Matthew and Tamia officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. Their Sophomore year of college met Matthew and Tamia with many challenges. First, they were now a long-distance couple when Tamia moved to Penn State Mont Alto while Matthew stayed at Penn State Harrisburg. Secondly, their Spring Semester of sophomore year Covid 19 became a pandemic. Matthew and Tamia went about 9 months without in-person contact. Their relationship stayed strong through many Skype dates planned by Matthew and Tamia. Fast forward to 2022. Tamia and Matthew took the next big step in their relationship, they moved into an apartment together. Shortly after, they adopted their amazing cats Chuck and Taylor. Then in October 2024 Matthew and Tamia took a trip to Utah, a place neither Matthew nor Tamia had ever been. On October 16th Matthew and Tamia went on a Hike called "Charlie 9000 foot trail. This was a challenging hike for both Matthew and Tamia which was worth it for the breathtaking view they got of the Utah mountains. While setting up Matthew's phone to take a photo, Matthew surprised Tamia by getting down on one knee and pulling out an old box that came with their promise rings from sophomore year. When Matthew asked Tamia to marry him she excitedly said yes! (and tried to contain her excitement to avoid knocking both Matthew and Tamia off the cliff!)
