2021 Hannah and Matthew met when Matthew accepted a job at San Ramon Presbyterian Church, where Hannah was attending. Upon meeting Matthew, Hannah and Tessa, the Maid of Honor, unsuccessfully tried to set him up with one of their friends. Matthew and Hannah interacted a little while both helping with the middle school youth students. Hannah thought Matthew was a little strange because of how much he liked cats. Matthew felt the same way about Hannah because of how much she liked Almond Joys. Besides that, though, they got along. Summer 2023 Hannah came back to the Bay Area for the summer after her first year of college. The two became close friends between planning summer camps, hosting all-nighters, and going on hikes with students. Hannah remembers really missing Matthew when she went back to school for her Sophomore year. Matthew was mostly just sad to be missing a volunteer on Sunday mornings. Summer 2024 Hannah comes back from school again, this time having stayed in contact with Matthew throughout the whole school year. Hannah and Matthew had started to fall completely head first for one another. They found excuses to grab lunch after church and started texting throughout the day. Near the end of the summer, Matthew asked Hannah out on their first date. They go to the California Academy of Sciences. (The rest of) 2024 This marked our first year of long distance dating. Matthew graduated from college in December and Hannah continued at Biola. We managed to stay pretty connected through FaceTiming while Hannah practiced teaching Matthew O-chem. We also drove countless miles on the five. Between the two of us, we have likely stopped at every rest stop between Tracy and LA. 2025 Hannah comes back home for the summer after finishing her Junior year at Biola. This summer was full of change as Matthew began the Police Academy and Hannah chipped away at physics classes and EMT certifications. Somehow, though, Matthew managed to free up a weekend for the both of them and asked Hannah to marry him. 2026 This year has been so exciting! Hannah is finishing up her last semester of school and Matthew is enjoying the start of his new career. Long distance wedding planning and apartment hunting is not for the faint of heart, but we are so looking forward to what's to come!!
