On October 10th, Matt walked into Murdochs looking for some stuff for his hunting trip. When he had got all that he needed he walked up to the cashiers and while waiting in line he sees Elissa cashiering, however she was just filling in at the time and was supposed to have gotten off work 2 hours prior. When he sees her, he immediately starts shaking in his boots and doesn't know what to do. He gets up to her register, puts everything up on the counter and wouldn't talk because he was so nervous. In a last ditch effort to try and get him to talk to her, Elissa commented on a tattoo of his to try and start conversation. However, Matt did not make that easy as he was a man of few words in that moment and that was the most of the interaction. Matt takes off and drives down the road about a mile and he decides to call his dad, saying he met this cute girl and wanted to go back, and his dad promptly encouraged him to do so. Matt flipped around and drove back to Murdochs, he went back in, grabbed a hunting knife to buy and walked back to the cashier stands to find Elissa. Once he found her, he got in her line. He walked up and the first thing he asked was if she was single. However, he mumbled it so quietly that she had to ask him to repeat himself. She then responded with that she was in fact single and so he asked for her phone number. She kindly rejected to give it to him but said i'll take your phone number instead and maybe text you. After acquiring his phone number, she then proceeded to ask him if he still wanted the hunting knife, and he chuckled and said that he did. Matt then began waiting impatiently and checking his phone constantly. Elissa knew she had to make him wait a good 24hrs to text him and when she finally did they hit it off immediately and the rest is history.
