Our dream is to have all our favorite people in one place, so we have rented out the entire luxury resort of Hacienda Xcanatun for us to spend the long weekend together! Please do not stay elsewhere :) Once you RSVP for the wedding, we will connect you directly with the hotel to secure payment for your room. RATE: $295/night + taxes and fees ($386 all in per night). This rate includes an upgraded breakfast buffet each morning. The bride + groom will be providing all meals and excursions as an extension of our gratitude for having all of our favorite people traveling to celebrate with us. If you are thinking of coming earlier/later you can extend this rate 3 days before and 3 days after the wedding.

This is an optional activity that the couple would love to have guests join in on. Meet us in the lobby at 10AM fully caffeinated and ready to depart. A private bus will take us on a 1hr drive to the cenote excursion. Located on a XVII century hacienda, we will swim in two different cenotes connected by a canal. At the end of the 1.5hr leisurely swim, you are invited to have drinks and a light lunch on the property. If you do not want to swim, but do want to tour the property you are welcome to do so. You can lounge at the property's restaurant-bar and meet the rest of the group post-swim. DO: - Bring swimwear and comfortable shoes - Bring a towel DO NOT: - Wear more than face sunscreen as these are protected waters - Wear jewelry or other valuables you would be sad to loose - Wear make up or heels

What hotel should I stay at?

ONLY Xcanatun - we have rented out the entire luxury resort of Hacienda Xcanatun so we can all be together! Once you RSVP, the hotel will reach out for payment. Please don't stay elsewhere. We negotiated a preferential rate for all guests that includes breakfast. You are able to put down a deposit or pay in full. As a sign of our gratitude, the rest of the wedding weekend experience is courtesy of the couple.

Immediately. There are not a lot of flights heading to Merida and February is high season. The sooner you book, the better.

Yes! We have locked in the preferential rate for 3 days before the wedding start date (Thurs, Feb 6) and 3 days after the wedding end date (Sunday, Feb 9) for anyone who is interested.

Tell me more about Merida.
Answer
Merida is one of the safest areas in Mexico. It is a colonial Mexican town and the capital of the Yucatan. Although landlocked, it has lovely areas of historic architecture and lots of nature + Mayan sites not far from the city center. February is technically winter in the region. Expect the weather to be pleasant + sunny in the 80F/26C and 65F/18C at night.

Do I need pesos?

Some pesos would be helpful as the car service only takes cash. Credit cards are accepted everywhere, but there might be a minimum charge you have to hit. If you have an AmEx, bring a back up credit card.

We will take care of most transportation to and from all pre-planned activities. You can also order Ubers to the hotel should you want to venture on your own
