Things To Do

Hike the Wissahickon

One of our favorite trails in the Philly area, we knew it was the perfect spot for our wedding! The Wissahickon has over 50 miles of trails that wind through dense greenery you would never expect to find in the city. Walk (or bike or ride horses!) along Forbidden Drive, a paved route along the creek, or branch off along the many dirt trails. Highlights include the covered bridge, the Devils Pool, and (of course) the Valley Green Inn. Bring your binoculars - the Audobon Society seems this an “Important Birding Area.”

Dalessandro's Steaks

600 Wendover Street, Philadelphia, PA 19128

The closest of the famed Philly Cheesesteaks spots is Dalessandro’s. There’s always a line, but you can call ahead to place your order - and it’s worth it. Come hungry!

Reading Terminal Market

1136 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107

Philly’s best food market, right in the middle of town. Come for lunch or groceries. Our lunch recs include Herschel’s for an authentic NY style Jewish deli and DiNic’s for the roast pork (Philly’s best kept secret as far as sandwiches go). Get caffeinated at Old City Coffee and don’t pass up the Amish baked goods at Beiler’s.
