About Us

What started as easy conversation in November of 2022 quickly turned into something special, and a few weeks later, Matthew made a 3.5‑hour drive (7-hour round trip) to take Britney on their first date. With a little matchmaking from Matthew’s brother and sister‑in‑law, Jon and Hannah Ritter, who also happened to be Britney’s sorority sister and dear friend from UCM, the connection felt very much like fate. Over the months that followed, Matt made several trips to visit Britney, and she visited him as well, making the distance feel a little smaller each time and sometimes harder to bear. By May of 2023, Britney had moved to Troy to begin their next chapter together. On March 5th, 2026, Matthew proposed in their kitchen during a peaceful evening (some may say random Thursday), but it was simple, meaningful, and perfectly fitting for the two of them.

Schedule

We’re celebrating with an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception inspired by a summer garden party. Expect a joyful, romantic evening with playful details that make the night feel warm, personal, and full of life. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 PM, so please arrive a little early to ensure you don’t miss a moment. You’re more than welcome to come early and hang out with us beforehand! Please join us for dinner immediately after the ceremony. Dancing will follow as the golden‑hour sunset settles in. Dinner is on us—and it’s tacos! 🌮 Don Julio’s Mexican Restaurant in Troy, MO will be serving street tacos with chicken, steak, and pork options, plus all the fixings.

We feel so lucky to already have everything we need, especially your love and support, which means the world to us. Gifts are not necessary nor expected. Having you celebrate with us is what matters most. While we do not have a registry, those who wish to contribute to our newlywed fund are more than welcome, though never required.

What will the weather be like?

July is HOT in Missouri! To keep everyone comfortable, we will have handheld fans and cold water bottles available for the ceremony. Don't worry though, the ceremony will only last about 20 minutes, and then we're heading inside to the air conditioning!
