Our paths first crossed in 6th grade, where we shared the same randomized school schedule—except for first period: Jacob had band, and Matéa had choir. We even had a crush on each other during that time. Though we went to different high schools—Matéa attending McKinney High School and Jacob attending John Paul II Private School—we kept tabs on each other through social media. One day, Matéa commented on an Instagram post of Jacob’s featuring his music. That simple comment led to Jacob reaching out. After some time of reconnecting and getting to know each other better, we met again at Winniford Park on October 27, 2014. Since that day, we’ve loved each other deeply for who we are at our core. Over the years, our bond grew stronger as we navigated life’s milestones together. Then, on May 3, 2024, Jacob proposed, marking the start of the next chapter in our story—a lifetime together.
