Dear friend Don Claussen (DC) from the Big Stick Family reconnected with Chris on Facebook. They are High School buddies from Douglas Wyoming and hadn't seen each other for decades. Now, I (MK) have known DC not for decades but for a long darn time. Anywho, November 7th, 2023, DC brought Chris to a Big Stick Family lunch that started at the 120 Bar & Grill in Loveland & moved to the Derby in Berthoud. Crazy fun & laughing the whole time. (A few Breakfast Shots too!!) Quite a bit of flirting was flying back & forth. Spicy (Stephanee) asked if I got Chris's number. Me being horrible with names said "Oh, that's his name! Thanks! The next month, DC brought Chris again to the BSF Christmas party at Thumper & Otter's house and the flirting resumed. (Yes, I remembered his name by now!) I was sneaking around taking his picture during the fun. The next day, Chris Facebook friended me and we exchanged numbers. He asked me to dinner to celebrate his birthday on December 9th. We met in Fort Collins and had decided on HuHot, a favorite for both of us. Me being MK and it being his birthday, I wouldn't let him pay. In my circle if it's your birthday, you don't pay. Chris was cute trying to argue that he asked me so he should pay. Well, my brilliance won out & I paid. Brilliant because he had to ask me out on a second date! We talked until HuHot was empty and they were politely vacuuming around us. Walking around old town Fort Collins led to many hour-long phone calls, dinners & lunches, we were hooked. We bought DC a steak dinner to thank him for leading us to find each other.
