Picture this. It's December 8th, 2014. It is Isaias's mom's birthday. He just wrapped up his work for the end of the fall semester. After a little celebration for Mom. He needed a night out. It's a Monday night, but he decides to take a bus to NYC from Paterson, NJ. Boiler room will be his first stop of the night. There isn't much going on a Monday night in Boiler Room, but the drinks are cheap so it's good for a pregame. Mark was working the bar that night. Isaias walks in. He was very shy and wanted to get a drink to loosen up. He walks up to the bar. Their eyes meet for the first time. There was a pause. They both smiled. It was as if they both were thinking "....oh, there you are" Mark made Isaias's drink. It was a rum and coke. Shy Isaias sat in the corner on his phone. Some time passed, and Mark reached over and grabbed Isaias's phone. Mark said to Isaias, "Get off Grindr....You're at Grindr!" Mark then added his phone number to Isaias's phone and gave the phone back. The night goes on. Conversations start to flow. Lots of Laughter. Hours pass. Isaias is still in Boiler Room. He abandons his original plan. He stayed until the bar closed. Isaias kept thinking... "I want to know this person, like REALLY know him" Mark said he needed to close the bar and count money. So he sent Isaias out. "Nice meeting you. Keep in touch" Isaias was a little bummed that's how the night ended. He got himself some food and wandered slowly toward home.
