It all started in January of 2018 — just two people swiping right. Three months later, we took our very first trip together to Tulum, because nothing says “this seems stable” like international travel with someone you just met. It was hot, it was beautiful, and somewhere between the tacos and cenotes, we said “I love you” for the first time. After graduation, Dorian moved back to Europe, and we began a year-and-a-half of long distance — which sounds very romantic until you realize how many calls happen during the night or early morning. But we made the most of it, meeting up in Iceland, Portugal, Jordan, and Colorado. Somewhere along the way, we adopted our first pet together; Turbo, a black cat with a lot of personality and the perfect cuddle buddy. In December 2019, Dorian moved back to Chicago — and brought along Mitsou, his childhood cat who tolerated Turbo’s chaos. Just a few months later, the world shut down, and we suddenly found ourselves in lockdown together, learning the hard way that open-concept living doesn't pair well with 7am Zoom calls, and discovering that monopoly is a game we should never play again. Our furry family continued to grow and evolve; Eleanor, a tabby cat who was a little too clever for her own good, and two senior Pomeranians, Bear and Weu Weu, who almost required their own medical team, even in their older years they brought joy, snuggles, and spark of energy. Over the years, our love of travel led us to Japan, Costa Rica, France, and Italy — collecting memories, souvenirs. Most recently, we embarked on our biggest adventure yet; buying a condo together in Logan Square, Chicago, where we remembered our lockdown lesson and now have a dedicated office! Now, 8 years later, we’re headed back to Tulum — this time not just as two people figuring things out, but as partners for life. We’re so excited to return to the place where it all began, and we would be honored to have you there with us to celebrate the next chapter of our story.
