Our story started in 2018, when we met as geology graduate students working in the same research lab at University of California, Davis, connecting immediately over a shared love of the outdoors, science, and music. Our first memories together include hiking up Mt. Lassen (now our dog’s namesake), many weekend climbing and skiing adventures, and countless late nights at jam band concerts. Since then, we’ve lived all over California and Oregon, supporting each other through exciting career changes and life's ups and downs, while always making time to explore the world around us. We are both so happy to have found a partner who’s just as excited about doing meaningful work as they are about getting outside and exploring new places. We can't wait to continue building our life together as we start this next chapter, and we're so excited to celebrate with you :) - Marge & George

Home to the lowest point in North America (200+ ft below sea level), Death Valley is an awesome desert landscape with sand dunes, salt flats, and colorful badlands. Great stop if you’re driving from SoCal or flying into LAX or Las Vegas (LAS) on your way to June Lake.
Located right off Highway 395, the Alabama Hills offer great views of Mount Whitney, the tallest peak in the continental U.S. (14,505 ft!). Wander through its unique granite formations and natural arches for a nice scenic break if you’re driving from SoCal or flying into LAX or Las Vegas (LAS).
Just 30 minutes from June Lake, Mono Lake is an ancient salt lake (one of the oldest in North America) known for its tufa tower formations. Really beautiful at sunrise or sunset! From here, you can hike a short trail to Panum Crater, a volcanic crater filled with obsidian and pumice.

Formal attire. The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on grass, and the reception will be on a wooden deck, so we recommend wearing shoes that will be comfortable on uneven surfaces.
