What is a Nikkah?
Answer
A Nikkah is an Islamic wedding where the couple signs a marriage contract legally unifying them as husband and wife.

What is a Gaye Holud?
Answer
A Gaye Holud is a traditional Bangladeshi pre-wedding ceremony, similar to a Bridal Shower. It consists of guests applying turmeric onto the soon-to-be newlyweds, and feeding them sweets and fruits. It is a very festive and colorful event, typically filled with singing and dancing.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
The ceremonies will take place at our home, so there is no definite dress code. Modesty is appreciated! The Gaye Holud vibes are very colorful (think parrot!) and the Nikkah vibes are more elegant, flowy, floral, and pastel. Basically, treat it like the Met Gala!

I'm a photographer, should I bring my camera?
Answer
YES! We would absolutely LOVE if our photo-junkie friends helped take the candid, intimate photos of all of our ceremonies. We're more than happy to pay for your efforts in capturing our special moments.
