We met at school where I was the evening student services coordinator and he was an air conditioning student. He was stationed at the Air Force base and wanted to take classes to prepare for retirement. So, he sat down for his student ID without a smile. I made him laugh and he flashed that winning smile. Little did I know that we would become friends. But God knew. After I messed up his transfer of credit twice, which was the only student I had ever done that to, he came to just sit down and visit with me. I enjoyed his visits. I love a man in uniform, which he did not know. So, when he showed up in uniform with a single long stem red rose, I was all but done. His smile disarmed me and his uniform made me melt.
