Jon and I had been working at the same place for a few years, but we didn't get to know each other until a fateful happy hour where a group of coworkers decided to go out after work one Friday. It was then, in the winter of 2015, when we started chatting and I quickly learned of Jon's passion for cooking and good food. It was then that I admitted I needed to learn to cook and he offered to help me out, leading to our first date! Jon and I spent our first date making homemade pasta, and our story began.

On April 21, 2018, I was planning on a day at Keeneland with Jon and two of our best friends, Alyssa and Kenny. Jon kept rushing me through the morning to go for my run and get ready, so we could get out the door. Not knowing what was up, I was about to run out the door to get in his truck when he stopped me and got on one knee. With just our beloved dog, Max, in the background, Jon proposed and I was so excited to say, "yes"! We then headed to Keeneland, still thinking we were meeting Alyssa and Kenny. Much to my surprise, our families and a couple close friends were there, including my brother, Michael, and nephew, Wally, who flew in from Atlanta. We were both amazed at the celebration our loved ones put together that day, and we won't forget it.
