Our story began in high school, where we first met through FFA. We were competing on the same teams and eventually became part of the same friend group. (Little did I know, Tristan had actually tried to get my attention earlier by sliding into my Instagram DMs—but I was completely oblivious) As time went on, Tristan’s heart for me shone through in the simplest, most thoughtful ways—bringing me flowers, planning sweet dates, and being his genuine, fun-loving self. What started as a friendship soon turned into something more. On March 2nd, Tristan and I got engaged—and now, just 10 months later, we’ll be husband and wife! He proposed on the dock at Millican Reserve, surrounded by the most amazing sky. We giggled all the way down the dock, nervous and excited at the same time. After he asked me to spend forever with him, and I said yes, we stayed there for over half an hour, laughing and spilling all the secrets and sneaky lies our friends and family had told to help pull off the surprise. I then discovered that he had arranged for both of our families and friends to be waiting at a nearby house to celebrate with us. It was perfectly us—sweet, a little chaotic, and full of love. As we look back on our journey, we are amazed at how faithful God has been to bring two imperfect people together and write a story more beautiful than we ever dreamed. We’re beyond excited to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, and bringing glory to Him in everything we do, together.
Here’s a photo from one of our earlier dates—August 7th, 2021—when we carved 'M + T' inside a heart on a tree trunk. We wonder if it’s still there… a sweet little piece of the beginning of our story.
