Animal rescue is a cause near and dear to our hearts. We adopted our dog Ragu from a local rescue in 2024 and fostered another dog through Halfway There in July 2025. Rescues and shelters in the Carolinas are devastatingly underfunded due to a lack of local laws that limit dog breeding. This causes a surplus of dogs flooding shelters at a constant rate and thus being euthanized for space far too often.
