How We Met
We met in college in 2015. Madi was a freshman, Joe was a super senior at WMU. We sat by each other in Biology and Madi used Joe for some answers to homework pretty frequently. We grew as friends and even spent Madi's 20th birthday together! After Joe graduated, distance grew and we went our own ways. Madi had seen Joe around at the gym and at the bars in Grand Rapids a couple times but was too scared to go up and say hi. In Summer of 2019, Joe reached out, which became the beginning of us. Through a pandemic, camping trips, moving across country and and a lot of traveling in-between, we began to grow our relationship into something very special. January 13, 2023 Joe popped the question surprising Madi with friends and family at Copper Mountain. A place that will forever be special to us. Now back to Michigan! It was a great adventure in Colorado but it's time to be back with our friends and family. And most excitingly, getting married!

Be weary of timing if there is inclement weather that day. The hotel block is about 15 minutes away with no traffic/snow.

Grand Rapids Airport will be the easiest to get to Saugatuck. Only about an hour away.

Please use the link or call (616) 399-8500 and request a room block for the Higashi/McCartney wedding. Rooms need to be booked by December 10th to secure the lowest rate. **Breakfast is included at the hotel. The bride and groom will be there Sunday morning to have breakfast and see everyone before the weekend officially ends! We'd love to see you there, hungover or not :)

From Venue to Hampton Inn Hotel

We will have a few drivers who will be bringing guests who are staying at the Hampton back to the hotel after the reception if driving is not an option. Guests can have their cars there until 9am the next day. Please coordinate picking up your car if needed.

Plenty of parking at the venue. Cars can stay overnight if needed.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?
Answer
Yes, there will be shuttles/cars bringing people from the venue to the Hampton Hotel only after the reception. If a car is going to be left overnight, please arrange for it to be picked up by 9am. If you are staying somewhere other than the Hampton, please arrange a ride to and from the venue!
