Our Story

Our story began back in 2020 when we met during Madeline’s junior year and Frankie’s senior year of high school, making us high school sweethearts. We were introduced through Katie Jane Karlstrand, one of Madeline’s dance friends, who was also friends with Haley Janacaro, Frankie’s sister. It all started because Madeline was on the dance team and needed an outgoing guy to join the boy-girl dance team routine for a basketball game. With the help of our friends, Madeline landed Frankie as her dance partner, which led to our first date—watching the Chiefs win the Super Bowl together on February 2, 2020. We also had the chance to attend the St. Pius X Sweetheart dance before the pandemic hit, and we treasure those early memories of spending time together. After Frankie graduated high school in 2020, he completed two years of community college before working at Bass Pro Shop for three years. He now works in the accounting and finance department at Kansas City Aviation. Through it all, Frankie has been lucky to see Madeline pursue her dreams in dance. He is beyond grateful for the unwavering support from his friends and family, especially as he embarks on the biggest day of his life—our wedding day. Madeline graduated high school in 2021 and went on to earn her BFA in Dance and Choreography, with dual emphases in Ballet and Modern. Dance has truly brought Madeline just about everything in life—her passion, her career, and most importantly, the incredible people she’s met along the way. She’s deeply grateful for the friends she made in college, who supported and encouraged her through every step of her journey. Their friendship has been a gift, and she’s thankful to have them by her side on her wedding day, celebrating this incredible chapter of her life. On March 17th, 2024, Frankie proposed in front of our entire families. It was a truly unforgettable moment, surrounded by our loved ones and marking the start of this next chapter together. Now, we are proud to be the new owners of Ibsen Dance Theatre, the very studio where Madeline grew up dancing. Taking over this studio means so much to us, as it’s a place where Madeline’s passion for dance flourished, and we’re excited to continue its legacy for future generations of dancers. We are beyond grateful for our amazing bridal party, whose love and support have meant everything to us throughout this journey. We also can’t express enough how thankful we are for our families, who have been a constant source of encouragement, strength, and love throughout our relationship. Their unwavering support has helped us get to where we are today. As we look to the future, we are filled with excitement and gratitude for the people who have shaped our lives. This day wouldn’t be the same without all of the love and support we’ve received, and we’re eager to see where this next adventure takes us, together.

Lillian Himmelberg

Maid of Honor

Hi! My name is Lillian and I am the maid of honor! Madeline and I have been best friends for as long as I can remember. We first met at our former dance studio. As we started to have more classes together, we became inseparable. A couple years later I met Frankie. It was their first date and I came to watch them perform a dance routine. I knew from then they would be together forever. I have so many memories with Madeline but some of the best have been living together the past four years and sharing some really sweet moments. Madeline has grown into such a strong beautiful woman and I’m so excited to see this next chapter of her life!!

Kaleb Power

Best Man

Hi everyone! My name is Kaleb Power and I have known Frankie since the 3rd grade when he transferred to St. James for grade school. We then proceeded to go through grade school, middle school, and high school together and we even played on the same baseball team for several years. I am now engaged to my amazing fiance Sophie and am finishing up graduate school this summer!

Clara Houske

Bridesmaid

hi i’m Clara! I met madeline (mad, mad-dog, dog) freshman year of college, when i moved from sweden to kansas city, and we’ve been rommates since sophomore year! madeline is one of those people that is a true blessing to have, honest, kind and genuine. moving to the united states and being scared of integrating into a new culture is terrifying and i had a lot of time wondering if i would fit in. madeline showed me grace and has helped me with all those little things that differentiate sweden and the united states, like how to sign checks… madeline and frankie have taken me in to their lives and let me spend holidays with them and their family and treated me like one of their own which is a standout quality for them as a couple!

Haley Janacaro

Bridesmaid

My name is Haley Janacaro and I am Frankie’s little sister. I met Madeline my freshman year at St. Pius. Although Madeline was a junior and I was just a freshman, we became fast friends. Immediately I felt a connection with her, it was like she was already my big sister. She was so kind and caring to me. Months later when Frankie and Madeline started to date, I could see they had an instant connection as well. The reality of my best friend actually becoming my sister makes me excited beyond words. Love you both so much! I feel so blessed to be part of this special day! 🩷
