We met during a Badger football game at the University of Wisconsin-Madison our freshman year of college. We had both arrived with a mutual friend and started talking after realizing we were wearing matching red Chuck Taylor Converse. Before long, we discovered we were both from Minnesota and loyal Vikings fans. Over the next few weeks, we quickly connected through our shared love of music, travel, the outdoors, sports, and movies and TV shows. As our relationship grew, so did our desire to explore the world together - trying new hobbies, seeking adventure, and stepping outside our comfort zones along the way. Our first trip together, we explored Duluth as well as Tettegouche State Park in Silver Bay during late winter. We braved the snow and icy trails while taking in the beauty of Lake Superior at every turn. During college, we also traveled to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore with an outdoor club, where we fell even more in love with Lake Superior and learned the joys of backcountry camping alongside fellow outdoor lovers. Last summer, we took a road trip around the entire shoreline of Lake Superior, exploring hidden corners of northern Minnesota, Canada, and Michigan. Along the way, the trip became even more meaningful when we got engaged during our second visit to Pictured Rocks. As we begin this next chapter together, we are so excited to celebrate in one of the places that means so much to us. We can’t wait to share this special destination with all of you!
