How he proposed!

Arkansas - "Better than You'd Expect"

Ben and Maddi decided to take a road trip to Arkansas in August, 2024. Yes, we know what you're thinking.... "Arkansas?!?". Yes, Arkansas. For months before the trip, Maddi bugged Ben about when he was going to propose (it's his fault for telling her he had the ring already). As the trip got closer, he had fully convinced her that he was in fact, NOT going to propose on the trip (rude, right?). So while she expected an amazing trip, Maddi was blind of just how amazing it would be. After spending their first night in Texarkana (yuck), Ben and Maddi continued on to Murfreesboro, AK where they stopped at Crater of Diamonds State Park (can you see where this is going?), a decommissioned diamond mine where you can dig through 37.5 acres of plowed dirt to try to find diamonds. They chose a solitary spot and dug together until Ben went a few yards away and started digging in a new spot. After a little while he called Maddi over to see what he found... and when she walked over he turned around, on one knee, with the diamond he just "found". After a sweet profession of his love, Maddi reminded Ben that he still hadn't actually asked her to marry him. But of course, once he asked, she said yes. Thanks to this beautiful moment and all of our other amazing adeventures in Arkansas, we decided they should change their state motto to "Arkansas - Better than You'd Expect".

Travel

The Wedding Website of Maddi Scilino and Ben Scilino
Getting to Fisher Ranch is a beautiful, scenic drive through the heart of the Texas Hill Country... but it is also somewhat winding and long. So please plan your travel ahead of time and drive safe! We will send out specific instructions prior to the wedding but please plan on giving yourself at least an hour from Kerrville or from Highway 83. When you get to Fisher Ranch Road, you'll see the sign above. Once you turn, we will have signs directing you down into the canyon. Cell service will be spotty the closer you get. Also, please note that all the properties on Fisher Ranch Road are private so please stay on the marked paths. So once again, plan ahead, drive safe, and ENJOY THE VIEW! :)

FAQs

Question

How do we get to Fisher Ranch?

Answer

We will send out specific directions prior to the wedding. Coming from Kerrville, Fisher Ranch Road is about 5.7 miles passed The Hunt Store on Highway 39 in Hunt, TX. If you turned off Highway 83 onto 39, Fisher Ranch Road will be about 20 miles down on your right. Once you turn onto Fisher Ranch Road, signs will guide you down into the canyon. Cell service will be spotty the closer you get. Please note that all of the properties on Fisher Ranch Road are private so please stay on the marked paths.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Hill Country Classy - fine something cool, classy, and maybe a little western; but most importantly, wear something you're ready to play some games in! Cowboy hats, boots, and jeans welcome.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Absolutley!
