FAQs

Question

Do I have to RSVP?

Answer

YES please do!!!! This is the only way we can keep track of our numbers. If you fail to RSVP, we will not be able to accommodate you during our special celebration. A guest list will be prepared for our nuptials and will be strictly enforced. Please plan to confirm on or before the room deposit due date (Sept. 15th). In advance we say PLEASE and THANK YOU!!!

Question

When is the deadline to RSVP?

Answer

Upon receipt of this, your wedding invite, please RSVP with either your regrets or your intent to attend, along with your initial deposit for accommodations; deadline is Thursday, September 15, 2022. FINAL payment for our destination wedding will be Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will certainly be missed! If you cannot make it to our destination wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “NO,” so that we can plan accordingly.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Our wedding and all official wedding events will be strictly invitation only. We would love to accommodate everyone, unfortunately we will only be able to accommodate the name(s) listed on your invitation. Our guest list will be printed and checked; we'd hate for anyone to be turned away.

Question

How do I book accommodations?

Answer

Accommodations should be booked through our travel agent, Jillian McCartney, with Ultra Tech Travel. Please visit our travel page for the booking website information. https://www.ultratechtravel.com/lynette-harris---micheal-love-wedding.html Agent: Jillian McCartney Jillian@UltraTechTravel.com - 717.319.3433

Question

What if I do not have a passport; or it is soon to expire?

Answer

You will need a VALID passport to travel to our destination wedding. Be reminded that all U.S. passports must be valid for travel 6 MONTHS AFTER the scheduled return date. Be further reminded that Covid restrictions are subject to change at any time.

Question

How/When will my airfare be booked?

Answer

Unfortunately prices are not yet available for our May 2023 travel date. Be reminded that airfare rates and options will vary based on your travel dates and place of departure. If you will be booking your own airfare, please forward the airfare itinerary directly to our travel agent, Jillian McCartney. This itinerary will be needed in order to set up your roundtrip transfers between the airport and the resort. If you would like assistance with booking your airfare, please reach out to Jillian directly; she will gladly arrange your travel. Be advised that Covid restrictions are subject to change at any time.

Question

Do I need travel insurance?

Answer

With still so much uncertainty in our world, we would strongly suggest and encourage travel insurance. Through Jillian our travel agent, there are 2 types of insurance offered: Trip Secure Credit ($99.99 per person): Cancel for any reason and you will receive a future TRAVEL CREDIT to use within a year of the cancelation date. Trip Secure Cashback LAND ONLY ($169.99 per person): Cancel for any reason and you will receive a full cash refund back on the CC used in the amount of the land portion only.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Beach semi-formal attire. Due to the tropical weather, a jacket is not required for men. Ladies watch your heels; our wedding ceremony will be on the beach. Plan accordingly.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

You can expect the temperatures to range from 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit for the month of May and clear skies. Though some rain may pass through, our sunny dispositions will shine continuously!

Question

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

Events will be announced and shared.

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be held at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Resort on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 5pm in the evening. This is an adult and all inclusive resort.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be outdoors. In case of inclement at activities will be hosted under a tent.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, guests can head straight to the cocktail hour. A Jamaican BBQ reception will take place immediately after. Instruction and assistance will be provided. The after party will...….. Well, you already know!!!!

Question

Can I take photos and post on social media?

Answer

We kindly and lovingly ask that you PLEASE DO NOT post any photos and/or videos (OF ANY KIND) related to the wedding on social media. An official photographer has been hired and is being paid to capture all the memorable memories of our special day. We ask that you relax, stay present and enjoy the experience. Please allow this professional to do his job. There will be plenty of time to take, pose for and be a part of many, many photos and/or videos. As important as it is to have you there to celebrate with us, it's equally important that we be the ones to post the first photo/video and anything else related to this wonderous celebration. Please respect our request to NOT POST ON ANY FORM OF SOCIAL MEDIA until otherwise confirmed. Please don't be THAT one.

Question

While in Jamaica, how will we all communicate with each other?

Answer

To avoid international fees on your phone, consider using the WhatsApp app (available via all "play stores"). This is a fun and free way to keep in touch while on the island.

Question

Do I need to exchange monies; from the US to the Jamaican dollar?

Answer

No! Because we'll be on an "all Inclusive" resort, most daily day needs will be taken care of. Should you want to make additional purchases, most major credit cards are accepted and the US dollar is widely accepted (and appreciated). If compelled to do so, small currency can be used for tipping.

Question

What Can I Do While At the Airport?

Answer

While waiting to be transported to the resort (or on the way home), feel free to visit the many tax/duty free shops at the airport. Along with various restaurants and shops, beautiful paintings, murals and other historic artifacts can also be enjoyed. Finally, consider enjoying some Jamaican flavor at Club MoBay; at either the beginning (or end) of your travels, it's always a great time! More information regarding Club MoBay can be found on our group travel page at https://www.ultratechtravel.com/lynette-harris---micheal-love-wedding.html
