As people who always passed by one another in the gym for years, we never sat down and talked. While having separate lives, we still had one place in common, McMillan's. Wether it be Renae training for strongman events or Luke training for an upcoming race, they were there. March of 2024 will forever hold a special place in our heart where we connected at PA Dutch, a strongman event held at McMillans. Neither of us decided to volunteer that day and Renae wasn't even going to go since it was pouring down rain and miserable outside. On that Saturday morning we both showed up, Luke standing alone watching an event and Renae appeared (in the midst of bodybuilding prep) with strawberries and a smile. We carried on a conversation like we have been friends for years. A friend of Luke's which is actual a friend of Renae's as well, shows up and she wandered off. Fate somehow brings us back together when the owners send all three of us to go get pizza together for the volunteers. We spent the day getting to know each other and having laughs while sharing ear to ear smiles.
