The invitation said the dress code is formal what does that mean exactly?

Don't worry, when we say formal, we do not mean black tie! Suits and tea-length to floor-length dresses will be perfect for our event. Please note that our ceremony and reception will take place outdoors, so please consider this when planning your attire. We are praying for beautiful weather that is not too hot or too cold!
