Cartagena is magical! As with any popular travel destination—there will be people trying to sell you things or charge higher prices. We recommend confirming prices beforehand. This is the #1 complain, even at sit down restaurants or bars, always check prices before ordering, this is a must. A polite ‘no, gracias’ usually does the trick.

Ubers are the easiest way to get around—they work great and there are plenty available! If you choose to take a taxi from the airport to your hotel, please confirm the fare before getting in; it should not exceed $50 USD.
