On a sunny cold January day in 2016, Lucinda and Mike met at a Los Angeles medical facility. Lucinda noticed the tall and handsome security guard in uniform, and she hasn't stopped swooning over him to this day. When Lucinda held onto Mike's hand on the first date, she knew behind his hard exterior she had found her companion and protector. Mike understood the risks of Lucinda's health and has never thought of looking back. The road for Mike and Lucinda has been a challenge yet fulfilling. They have embarked on many first time adventures and traditions as the years have gone by. They quickly realized they had common love for music, shoes, the great outdoors, Ramen, the shooting range, and The Bass Pro Shop.

Mike put off his proposal several times due to Lucinda being in and out of the hospital. Finally on Valentine's Day 2021 Mike surprised Lucinda with her favorite cheesecake and another “lulu sized” cake asking her to marry him. In excitement and confusion, Lucinda turned around to see Mike on one knee and he asked her to be his goofball for life.

Lucinda and Mike have started their own traditions that include summer camping trips to Kern River, beach trips to Bolsa Chica, and their yearly Los Angeles Dodgers Vs. Chicago Cubs rival games. It was Mike who rekindled Lucinda’s love for the outdoors through her healing process. They can’t wait for the new traditions and trips that await them after saying “I Do” .
