Wedding Guest Dress Code

The Wedding Website of Ivan Bascon and Roxy Luche
We are excited to see your best summer cocktail attire! Refer to the provided color palette and sample outfits for inspiration on what to wear. For women, flowy mid-length dresses paired with sandals are a great choice, while men might opt for open-collared shirts or polo shirts paired with chino pants or slacks, and completed with loafers or moccasins. The key is to dress light and breezy to suit the tropical climate. Please note that the ceremony will take place in a church, which requires a modest dress code—this means dresses should not be above the knee, and see-through materials are not allowed (God will be watching!). If you have any questions or need further guidance, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Ivan Bascon and Roxy Luche
We're so excited to share a few of our favorite activities and food in the area.
Bangka boat island hopping

Bangka boat island hopping

The Bangka, a time-honored, traditionally crafted boat, has been the trusty vessel of local fishermen for generations. But it's not just a piece of history—it's a way to a fun island-hopping adventure! I know we're excited to cruise the crystal-clear waters around Bantayan Island on these iconic boats. There are nearby gems like Hilantagaan Island and Virgin Island. At Hilantagaan, you can dive into the vibrant marine life, while Virgin Island invites you to take the plunge with cliff jumps into the turquoise waters. Each stop highlights pristine white-sand beaches perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or simply soaking in the tropical scenery. Bangka ride around these islands offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Scooter around the island

Moped scooters are hands down the most exciting and convenient way to discover the hidden treasures of Bantayan Island. It is an amazing opportunity to cruise along coastal roads and meander through beachside café, a picturesque fishing village, or a secluded spot at your own pace. It's the perfect way to immerse yourself in the island's laid-back vibe while fueling your sense of adventure. We can't wait to ride alongside you!

Skydive from above

This is one for the bucket list: jumping out of a perfectly good airplane over the stunning Bantayan Island. Imagine the panoramic views of the island's lush greenery, white-sand beaches, and clear water stretching out as you plummet down to Earth. It’s a heart-pounding adventure that we are 100% doing, so let us know if you are interested in joining!

Best food in Bantayan Island

When in Bantayan Island, don’t miss the chance to savor the local flavors! Indulge in freshly caught seafood, from grilled fish to juicy prawns, often paired with traditional Filipino sides like garlic rice and tangy kinilaw (a local ceviche). For a true taste of the island, try the famous danggit (dried fish) served crispy and salty—perfect for a hearty breakfast or a beachside snack.

Cebu City recommendations

Cebu City recommendations

In Cebu City, get ready to treat your taste buds to a culinary exploration. Always start with the city’s signature dish, lechon, a succulent roasted pig that’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—widely regarded as the best in the Philippines (hello metabolic syndrome). Don’t forget to try puso, rice cooked in woven palm leaves, and indulge in the city's rich variety of street food, like skewered meat or fresh mangoes, to experience the vibrant local flavors. Welcome to Pinoy life!

Question

How & when do I RSVP?

Answer

Please check out our Travel & Accommodations page for all the info you need. Carefully review the routes and different options available. Do not hesitate to contact us if you need any clarifications.

Question

How do I travel between ceremony and reception?

Answer

Transportation from the ceremony (St. Peter and Paul Church) to the reception (Santa Fe Beach Club) will be provided for out-of-town guests. More information regarding this in the near future.

Question

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both! The wedding ceremony will be indoors, but the reception will be outdoors. You will get the best of both worlds, how 'bout that.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. However, we want our wedding to be your night off! Unless part of the wedding party or specifically included in your invitation, we respectfully ask kids to stay at home.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation (to be sent out soon!), +1 guests will be outlined there. Anyone not on the invitations will be kindly asked to leave—don't try, we know someone who knows jiu-jitsu!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We have great selections in our Travel & Accommodations tab for our recommendations. There are plenty of options at different budget levels.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While difficult to 100% predict, the expected temperatures is between 79°F and 93°F (26°C and 34°C) with clear skies (fingers cross). A contingency plan is already set if the weather has funny plans.

Question

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Answer

After basking in our love, please use #BasconInLove to post photos and share your experience on our special day!

Question

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

Yes, but please be mindful of the hired photographers in-action during the event. Moreover, we ask that you kindly silent all electronics during our church ceremony to avoid any accidental disruptions and to ensure being in the moment. Don't be that person. ;) Our photos will be posted and shared with guests later on. After the ceremony is complete and the wedding party has exited, you may use your devices and take pictures of whatever and whoever you wish!

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

Visiting an island, there are few MUST bring items: sun protection (sun screen, shades, hats, aloevera, etc.) and bug spray.

Question

How long should we stay on the island?

Answer

For as long as you wish! At least three days—arrive the day before the wedding, spend the whole day with us, and then spend another day after the event to properly recover. ;) However, we recommend spending more than three days to enjoy all the fun things Bantayan Island has to offer. We will be there a few days before, so feel free to come join us. P.S. Keep an eye out for announcements on mixer events with friends and family the few days before the wedding day. Event details will be released at a later time!

Question

Should I bring a wedding gift?

Answer

We're so thankful for the thoughtful and heartfelt gesture. Although gifts are definitely not required, we are grateful to accept anything offered. However, since this is a destination wedding in a remote island, we would prefer not to carry a billion ton of luggage on our way home. If you are truly compelled, the best way to give would be to visit our registry tab on this website and see our short list of gifts. We appreciate you!

Question

Do I need a visa to go to the Philippines?

Answer

If you are a US citizen with a valid US passport (validity should be at least 6 months and beyond), you do not require a visa to travel to the Philippines if your stay is within 30 days.

Question

If I have additional questions not addressed here, who can I contact?

Answer

Please reach us at bascon.wedding@gmail.com and we will get back with an answer as soon as we can! Thanks in advance for your patience.
