We met during college at a fraternity event and we really enjoyed talking to each other. We consistently made each other laugh, and we realized we enjoyed a lot of similar hobbies like listening to rap/EDM, skateboarding (back in the good ole days), and basketball (My was on High School team & Randy played recreationally) to name a few! My had reached out to hang out with Randy as friends to get to know him more, but realized she liked him romantically. The 'like' blossomed into 'love' and Randy ended up asking My to be his girlfriend after 6 months of talking to each other, and My said yes after much persistence from Randy. After My graduated from college, she went to study abroad while they were still dating and that really tested their relationship since long distance is tough. It ended up working out and they moved in together after Randy graduated from MSU. Mia also moved in with us as our fur-ever fur-baby! In 2021, we bought our first house in Madison Heights, MI, where we currently reside. In a sense, nothing in our relationship was traditional, but we made it work through lots of communication, effort, patience, and unconditional love for one another. In 2023, Randy popped the big question, gave My a beautifully custom-designed (modest) engagement ring. & This year, we decided to make this a forever commitment by getting married in front of all our loved ones from near and far! Well, the rest is (not) history because we still have a lot to learn and milestones to cherish with each other. If you have read it this far, good for you!
