How we became a "We"

An Email, a Friendship, and God’s Perfect Timing

Our story began with a simple introductory email. Our international student advisor, aware that we were the only two Congolese students at the university at the time, introduced us through a professional, introductory email meant to foster a sense of shared community and culture. What started as a formal courtesy email, over time developed into a strong friendship and beautiful romance. As we got to know each other, it became clear how perfectly God had orchestrated our meeting. In His perfect timing, He brought us into each other’s lives when we needed it the most, even though we didn’t realize it at the time. It was as though we had always known each other; our connection felt effortless, natural, and genuine. Our differences complemented each other in ways we never imagined, making us the perfect match. Through faith, laughter, and love, our journey has brought us to this moment: standing together, ready to begin the next chapter of our lives. And now, here we are, preparing to say “I do,” surrounded by the love and support of those who mean the most to us. We’re so excited to share this special day with you as we celebrate the start of our forever!

Ceremony

2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This event will be an Unplug Ceremony

Dear Family and Friends, We are thrilled to celebrate our wedding day with you and are deeply grateful for your love and support. To help make our ceremony a truly special and meaningful experience, we kindly ask for your help creating a moment of presence and connection. We have decided to have an unplugged ceremony, so we ask that all phones and devices be silenced and put away during the ceremony. This will allow everyone to fully embrace and share in the joy of this important moment. Before the ceremony begins, we’ll have a dedicated social media moment where you’re welcome to take pictures and videos. After that, we invite you to relax and enjoy the ceremony while leaving the photography and videography to the talented professionals we’ve hired to capture every detail beautifully. Thank you for your understanding and for being part of this meaningful day. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! With love and appreciation, Rodrick & Loïs
