John David's story

I certainly didn't think I was making one of the most important decisions of my life when I was having a conversation with my roommate about whether we wanted to go to this tailgate or just stay in our apartment and hang out. I still look back on that conversation and thank god I was able to talk him into coming with me because I certainly wasn't going alone. That's the day I met Logan. I'll never forget walking up and seeing the most beautiful girl I'd ever laid eyes on with the group of people we were going to meet. Of course, I had to take the opportunity to introduce myself and couldn't believe she was as awesome to talk to as she was beautiful. We even found out we had the same music taste, specifically a mutual love for Johnny Cash. I did everything I could to stay right beside her the rest of the day and talk to her as much as I could. I was fortunate enough to somehow talk her into hanging out the rest of the day and it truly was an amazing day. Eventually the day did have to come to an end and even though we hit it off as good as two people possibly can, I just knew she was way out of my league (which I've been reminded about on numerous occasions by family and friends) so it took me far too long to work up the courage to ask to hang out again. A few months later after keeping in touch, I finally worked myself up to ask her on an actual date. To my surprise she actually took me up on my offer to take her to see The Grinch and from there I knew I was going to do everything in my power to make her mine. I knew I loved her from the start and that love has grown every day I'm lucky enough to share my life with her.

Logan's story

September 1, 2018 I was visiting a friend in Savannah for the weekend. That Saturday we didn't have any plans, so we were somehow convinced to go to Statesboro for a Georgia Southern football game. We ended up at a tailgate, and shortly after John David arrived. He walked over with the biggest smile and was instantly the most perfect person I've ever met. We talked for hours, and shared common interests of music, especially Johnny Cash, and found out that we actually grew up right down the road from each other. Hours after I met him, I texted my dad that I found my future husband. Months went by of vaguely keeping in touch, until he was in town for Thanksgiving break and asked me on a date. After a movie date, we danced in the kitchen to What a Wonderful World in the light of the kitchen fridge, and I was in love ever since. We were inseparable. January 19, 2019, we were on the ski slopes of West Virginia, and he asked me to be his girlfriend. Since then, we have celebrated every 19th of each month. Even years later being engaged on October 19th. These past 7 years have been the happiest of my life. Within these years we've grown up together- we have been through changing majors, graduating college, 2 dogs, 3 moves, starting our careers, and crying, laughing, and loving through it all. He has been with me through loss and loved me through to some of the happiest days of my life. He still dances and sings along with me in the kitchen, takes me on picnics, keeps all my vases full of flowers, makes my breakfast every morning before work, constant date nights, and laughs with me every second like its our first date all over again. I love this life we live together, and we thank God for it everyday!
