Our Story
We first met in high school, at our schools student radio station WARG 88.9FM. Lisa was very quiet and Nick was…not. So they didn’t interact all that much. Years later, shortly before Nick was getting out of the Navy, we reconnected online and began talking. The day after Nick came home they went on their first date. Lisa was still very quiet having barely said a word. They continued to spend more and more time together and gradually Lisa came out of her shell. Now years later Lisa & Nick have built a life together. They’ve taken in Lisa’s niece Rachel, and adopted several pets together. Shawzie, Twiggy, and Debbie. As well as Max and Zapp who have both now crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Lisa & Nick are excited for this next step in their lives together and look forward to years and years of love and happiness together.
The Proposal
Our 10th anniversary was approaching, and we had planned on doing a staycation to celebrate. Lisa’s favorite band, Rise Against was playing at the Metro on Saturday. We would go to C2E2 on Sunday. We booked a nice hotel in the loop, and planned on just giving ourselves a nice little weekend. That Saturday was cold and rainy, but we didn’t let that stop us. We spent most of the day walking around the city seeing the sights and taking pictures together. That night we went to the Metro. Nick had made arrangements with the photographer shooting the show that night. In front of the venue the photographer asked for a photo of us in front of the marquee. Nick dropped to one knee and popped the question. Lisa said yes and the crowd cheered!

Question
Will there be an open bar?
Answer
Yes! We ask if you will be indulging that you do not drive afterwards. We also ask that you bring cash and tip the bar generously.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
We’d love to see our family and friends dress up with us, as such formal attire is required.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Yes there is a large parking lot. You will be able to leave your vehicles there overnight.

Will there be a ride from the venue to the hotel?
Answer
We do not want any of our loved ones drinking and driving on our big day. Uber vouchers will be provided to guests. If we have enough rooms booked the hotel will also provide a shuttle.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Yes, please do. We are doing our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. That being said this will be a nut free wedding.

Although we adore your children, we thought this would be a good opportunity take a night off from the kids.

Due to limited space we are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on your invitation. If you have received a plus one they will appear under your name on the RSVP. Thank you for your understanding.

Ceremony will start promptly at 4:30pm. Please arrive no later than 4:15pm.

Unfortunately only the first floor of the venue is handicap accessible.

You can RSVP on our wedding website.

What if I don’t RSVP in time?
Answer
If you do not RSVP by September 19th 2024, you will be marked as “not attending” We must provide an exact guest count to our vendors and cannot accept late RSVP’s.

What should I do if I am unable to attend?
Answer
You will definitely be missed. If you cannot attend please indicate “Will NOT Attend” on your RSVP so we can plan accordingly. If you already responded “Attending” and are unable to make it, please contact us directly as soon as you are aware.

Where is the ceremony and reception?
Answer
The wedding will be at the Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge in Hinsdale, Illinois. The ceremony will take place outside behind the Lodge. Dinner and reception will take place immediately afterwards inside the Lodge.
