I met Liz during a Halloween potluck with our community group. We ate, played Taboo, and got to know each other during the next few months. Hearing her laugh was the most incredible sound I had ever heard, so I knew I had to send her as many TikToks as possible. Eventually, I mustered up the courage to ask her to Saltgrass Steakhouse. As we talked, laughed, and ate I could feel God knitting our lives together. As I drove her home, I was asking myself, “what excuse can I make to see her again?” And behold, The Backyard had the answer! Randy Rogers! I asked if she liked country music and she said, “not really, but I’ll give it a try with you.” From there I knew we were meant to be.

Drew took me out to celebrate his birthday at Salt Grass (where we had our first date) We talked about getting ice cream, went to Cameron Park and on the way there, he asked, “When and where would you want me to propose?” I said, “I didn’t care as long as we’re in front of family!” And then he drove us to the park and we got out and walked up the stairs that led to a table with a bouquet of roses, a bucket of ice with champagne in it with two pink glasses right by it! I started crying and said “Babe!” So many times cause I just realized what was happening! I said yes and I hear car horns and people cheering and I see Lily (Drew’s sister) taking pictures and our parents walking up to congratulate us! We leave the park and I get surprised by a surprise engagement party at Drew’s parents house with a lot of our loved ones!!
