Bridget Russell and Olivia DeSanto were married on December 2, 2024 at New York City Hall. Olivia and Bridge met at the Silberman School of Social Work. The moment Olivia saw Bridge in a zoom class, they posted a message looking for study partners. Bridge responded, and the two became fast friends. Over lunch breaks and study sessions all over New York City, they fell in love. Olivia, originally from the Lower East Side, returned to New York after attending university in Montreal, while Bridge, from Maine, moved to the city for art school. Interestingly, Bridge and Olivia lived just one block apart in their early 20s but didn’t meet until recently—both feel the timing was simply meant to be. Together for almost three years, Bridge and Olivia now live in Bushwick with their small dog, Vinny. The two love to hang out in the neighborhood at the dog park, local cafes, movie theaters and bookshops. They share a commitment to activism and community organizing. They love to eat! And boy is New York City a great place for that. Bridge enjoys accompanying Olivia to Broadway shows, while Olivia is learning to enjoy going to punk shows with Bridge. After graduate school, Bridge became a therapist for young children on the autism spectrum, while Olivia works as a therapist in the theater community. The two look forward to a lifetime of love and hope for a larger celebration in Maine sometime soon.
