We welcome you to St Thomas and our Wedding Weekend!
Sea Salt is famous for our its wonderful handcrafted cocktails, sea bass and other ocean-centric dishes. Roger can vouch for the sea bass! Consider upscale island clothing, bring a light sweater or pashmina because the open-air ocean breeze can be a bit chilly at times. We aren't on the beach, so no worries about footwear, ladies. :)

Wedding is Upscale Beach Cocktail with a Color Palette
We do not have identified groomsmen and bridesmaids. Instead, each of you should consider yourselves as members of our bridal party. Our intimate, little wedding has been curated to include only our closest friends and family and we are so happy that you can celebrate with us! As such, we want you to be a part of all of our wedding scenes. Our official wedding palette is Navy blue, metallic silvery, boudoir red (which is actually more of a deep purplish pinky red) and cool pink (a light pink). Please choose outfits in any combination of these colors (with the addition of black as needed for men). All wedding weekend activities with the exception of the boating event and beach time take place on dry land, so there is no for ladies to worry excessively about footwear. Example swatches of the color palette can be found under....

Let's Sail to the British Islands and Relax at the Soggy Dollar!
The sailboat leaves promptly at 9am from Ritz-Carlton dockside. Pack your passport, sunscreen, a coverup, and a waterproof way to carry your money and personal identification. The sailboat will host a continental breakfast in the am as we sail into the british virgin islands. We will stop somewhere to do a bit of swimming and then end up docking near Jost Island. We land right at a bar called the Soggy Dollar - so named because you have to swim the last bit up to the island since the sand near the shore does not permit boats to dock. Make sure you pack sunscreen, your PASSPORT, and have a little waterproof pouch that can hold you ID and money :) On the way back, the staff will have an open bar... Looking forward to keeping the celebration going with you all!

This is where we will be having our welcome dinner and drinks the night before the wedding. It is also not far from the host hotel where we are having the wedding.

No - you absolutely do not have to go on the boat trip, although we would love to have you! Plus, we think its going to be an amazing time. Please just RSVP.
Great question! Beach weddings can always be a bit of a challenge. Here are some things to keep in mind. 1) Please try to stick to the color palette - at least for the wedding ceremony. :) For details on the wedding palette, check your email, I sent each of you an email with a pdf document that includes an example pantone snip of each of the included colors. Note that you and your dates can include black to ground your outfits. 2) How formal? The wedding is at 5pm - so this is a more formal-ish wedding. Although its on the beach. Think classic, more cocktail - with whatever vibe that you like that makes you feel good and fits within our palette. 3) Shoes - the welcome dinner and the wedding festivities are NOT ON SAND. This means that footwear is not restricted to "sand friendly" shoes. Feel free to wear whatever you like! Obviously, this does not apply to your beach excursions and our boat trip. 4) Speaking of beaches, and sand... one thing to know is that dusk here can sometimes bring on the no-seeums. Which is why we have chosen to not have the ceremony directly on the sand. If you are like me and apparently are a delicacy to the mosquito... please bring no-seeum spray with you to have on hand. I swear by the Avon skin so soft wipes! I buy a pack and literally keep one in my purse with me to use in case I forget to put it on. The trick with them is to apply and let yourself "dry off" before getting dressed. 5) SUNSCREEN. Caribbean sun bite you. 6) Pack a light pashmina, shawl or cardigan, just in case. Our welcome dinner is on the coast cliffside, and if the breeze is kicking, it can get a little cooler later. 7) Going on the boating trip? Take a bathing suit that you feel comfortable in, a cover-up, sunscreen, your PASSPORTS, money, a beach bag, and a waterproof pouch that you can slip money into so you can swim up to shore safely.
1) Bring your passport. Even though it is part of the US - the last couple times Roger and I have been there, they have asked us for our passports. I think they are cracking down a bit more on potential drug trafficking. 2) When traveling INTO St Thomas - the way airport to hotel transportation works is pretty common to most carribbean islands. You grab your luggage, tell someone outside to which HOTEL you are going, and they tell you which line to stand in. Most often, you will be in a minivan - with a FULL LOAD of other people. There is no private taxis unless you specifically request one (and they can be pricey). If you want a private taxi TO your hotel, call your hotel and arrange it beforehand with them. This is the best way to do that. 2) Following on, the taxis are all CASH. Make sure that you bring CASH with you for taxis and tips. They charge per person and per bag. Its usually $15 dollars for each person and $15 for each bag, so budget approximately about $60 per couple. 3) Know that there is no Uber in St Thomas. Incidentally, also know that they drive on the opposite side of the road as us, but they still use the same cars as us, and they drive like crazy people - so I do not recommend renting your own cars... but you do you. It is pretty easy to get a taxi during the day. However, if you choose to venture out later in the evening for dinners on your own or bar hopping in Red, you want to make sure that you can get back. The best way to do this is to make friends with the taxi driver that takes you out there. (Or any that you meet on your trip). Get their number and arrange for them to come back and get you at a pre-arranged time. Tip them well, so they come back. Most often restuarants will call for you, but bars sometimes are closed. Finally, make sure you have the number to your hotel, so in a pinch you can call them and try and arrange transportation back to the hotel later night.
If you're a late night snacker, especially after drinking, make sure to stock your room with munchies. The Ritz stops serving food around 10:30pm, and its a hike to find open places. The best way to handle drunken munchies is to stock your room when you get here :)
