Formal and semi-formal equally welcome!
We will be having a buffet-style Mediterranean feast, followed by cake and dancing. Non-alcoholic bevvies will be available. We have made the choice to have this be a BYOB affair (saves us from having to hire a bartender AND security!). The venue requires that everything be in cans, NO GLASS is allowed. Please feel free to bring your own mini cooler of canned beer, wine, or cocktails. Or just fill up your Stanley with a marg.
The parking at Pease Park is limited, so we do encourage carpooling, or using a rideshare to get here. We have included a map above that shows the main streets where you might find street parking outlined with green. There is also ample free parking for Pease Park available at the Austin Rec Center Parking Lot at 1301 Shoal Creek Blvd. There is some parking available on Kingsbury St. but please leave the 3 parking spots in front of the Tudor House free for load in/load out and parking for the immediate family of the bride and groom.
No glass bottles or glassware No candles or open flames No smoking or vaping No confetti, streamers or silly string No hanging anything from the interior or exterior walls of the Tudor cottage
This will be an outdoor event... we want everyone to be dressed as cute as they want to be, but also be comfortable and to keep the changeable Texas weather in mind. One other big factor to keep in mind is that the only available restrooms are the Pease Park public restrooms, so don't wear anything that will drag on the ground.
The Tudor House does not have any restroom facilities, but is conveniently located a very short walk from the Pease Park public restroom facilities.
In order to avoid having to pay for both a bartender and a security guard, we will not be serving any alcohol at the reception. We encourage people to BYOB or wine, or fill up your thermos with a mixed drink. Please keep in mind that no glass bottles or glassware of any kind is allowed at the park (so box or can that wine!). We did get an awesome sponsorship from our favorite NA brewery, Athletic Brewing, who kindly sent us quite a few 6 packs to share with our guests.
If it looks like it is going to rain the day of the reception, we will be doing our best to procure tents to keep everyone dry and warm. But please do keep an eye on the weather, dress appropriately, and bring umbrellas, rain coats, and jackets as needed.
Unless you have specifically been given a plus one, please do not bring any last minute guests. If we have more than a certain number of guests, we are required to hire a security guard for the event. If you're not sure if you have a plus one, please reach out to one of us and ask!
Heck yes there is! We can't guarantee we will be out too late, but we do plan to meet anyone who wants to at Hotel Vegas (where we first met 11 years ago this April). If you are interested in joining us here after the reception, let us know, and we will put you on a text thread to let you know our arrival and departure time from Hotel Vegas.
