Octavio and Lidia met during their freshman year of high school, constantly running into each other throughout the hallways of Whittier High School. At first, it was nothing more than casual glances and awkward smiles exchanged between classes, but eventually Octavio switched schools, and they just kind of lost touch. Fast forward a few years, and one day, out of nowhere, Octavio replied to one of Lidia’s Instagram stories asking if she, too, was in attendance at Cal State Fullerton. Rekindling their friendship felt like the beginning of something new as they began talking and got to know each other better. Octavio invited Lidia to meet up at the Fullerton Arboretum to catch up in person, and it was a great evening well spent together. A couple of days later, Octavio invited Lidia to Six Flags Magic Mountain, and as terrified as she was of heights, her response was an automatic yes! It was Lidia's first time going on Superman, and to help Lidia feel less nervous, Octavio held her hand on the ride. Their relationship soon took off as fast as a rollercoaster. Over the years, their bond deepened. They grew not only as individuals but also as partners, learning to navigate life's ups and downs side by side. Through long days of studying, family gatherings, celebrations, and challenges, Octavio and Lidia built a foundation of love, patience, and support that carried them forward. Several years had gone by, and Octavio decided that it was time to propose. While planning a trip to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, he knew it was the perfect time to ask the most important question. While hiking through Montaña de Oro, Lidia found a beautiful cliffside view overlooking the ocean. Octavio took this as his opportunity and set up his tripod to capture this moment, and just as they were celebrating the proposal, an elderly couple stopped by to ask if they knew what poison oak looked like. Confused, they both quickly replied, "no," only to be told they were surrounded by it. After the initial panic and a quick wash-up at a nearby convenience store, they couldn't help but laugh. It wasn't the "perfect" proposal story they had imagined, but it was perfectly them, adventurous, unpredictable, and full of love. In that moment, they realized that no matter what unexpected twists life throws their way, whether it's rollercoasters, long hikes, or even poison oak, they can face anything as long as they have each other. And that is where their forever truly began.
We love all of the children in our life, but due to space, we simply couldn't invite all of them! We hope you'll still be able to come to the wedding and celebrate this special moment with us!
We're so excited to celebrate this special day surrounded by our closest family and friends. As we're keeping it intimate, only those formally invited can be accommodated.
We want to ask that the dress code be semi-formal attire. For men, a suit or dress shirt with a tie. As for women, a midi or knee-length dress or dressy separates are also welcome.
