Our moms, Sandra and Jennifer, have been coworkers and friends for years. Naturally, the moment they realized they both had kids around the same age, they decided they were basically professional matchmakers. The problem? We had zero interest in a mom-arranged blind date, so it never happened. Life went on, years passed, and our moms continued to not-so-subtly remind us that we were “missing out.” After spending our whole lives in the same area, crossing paths without realizing it, and dodging our moms’ not-so-gentle nudges, we finally ended up single at the same time. That’s when Andreas sent the iconic text: “I guess our moms are trying to play million-dollar matchmakers.” And just like that, on January 8th, 2023, we went on our last first date ever. Honestly, once we met, the invisible string theory made perfect sense — it felt like the universe had been trying to get us together for years. Ever since that day, we both wondered how we went so long without being in each others lives but we are excited to spend forever making up for it!
