The universe, or perhaps just a clever algorithm, brought us together through the magic of online dating! Our very first date was wonderfully spontaneous – a bit of a shock, really, for Vanessa, who usually prefers things meticulously planned. It happened during a scorching heat wave (at least by SF standards, where AC is a rare luxury), making indoor apartments utterly unbearable. Leif was already enjoying some beers with his good friend Campbell at their favorite local haunt, Woods. Vanessa, meanwhile, was just wrapping up a work happy hour. They'd been chatting on the app for a day or two, and with the sun still shining and both already out and about, they thought, "Why not meet tonight?" Maybe, just maybe, love was already in the air! Leif, ever the pragmatist, made a quick dash home to swap out his shorts (a truly rare occurrence, as anyone who knows him can attest – he lives in shorts, rain or shine!). Vanessa, embracing the adventure, hopped on the 45 bus to navigate her way over the hill. They finally met at Union Larder, a cozy wine bar. Leif scored early points by ordering a wine that, impressively, shared Vanessa's surname. And, staying perfectly on brand, Vanessa opted for a crisp still rosé. Conversation flowed effortlessly, touching on everything from shared interests and life in the city to their families and friends. Naturally, tennis came up (thanks, Leif!), which somehow led to Vanessa playfully mentioning her desire to try pickleball... True to his word, Leif followed up the very next day with a list of pickleball options, clearly determined to ignite Vanessa's passion for racquet sports from the get-go. While Vanessa's love for racquet sports might still be a work in progress, they're both absolutely thrilled to have the rest of their lives together to figure it out!

San Francisco weather in September can be quite unpredictable! While days can be sunny, evenings often bring fog and cooler temperatures. For our ceremony and reception (4:30 pm - 10:00 pm), you can generally expect temperatures to range from the low 60s to high 50s and it can feel quite breezy. We highly recommend dressing in layers so you can be comfortable throughout the day and evening.
Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. We recommend a shawl or jacket for the ladies as it can be quite chilly in the Presidio.

Limited parking is available at the Log Cabin at the Presidio (there will be a guard on site). We recommend utilizing rideshare services or carpooling if possible.
Our wedding is an adult-only event, and we kindly ask that only those specifically named on the invitation attend.
We'll post our registry here when we're finished building it. Thank you in advance!
Please let us (Leif or Vanessa) know about any dietary restrictions or allergies by August 4th.
Like many major cities, San Francisco has areas to avoid. While generally safe, it's advisable to be aware of your surroundings, especially in parts of the Tenderloin and around some downtown streets, particularly after dark. Stick to well-lit, populated areas (see our suggested neighborhoods!) and exercise general caution as you would in any urban environment.
Q1: What are the best options for getting around San Francisco, especially from Fisherman's Wharf, besides public transport? For convenient transportation beyond public transit, rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are widely available throughout San Francisco, including Fisherman's Wharf. You can easily request a ride via their apps.
