Our Quarantined Love Story
During the height of the COVID pandemic, the last thing on both of our minds was to meet our soulmate. It was June of 2020. Lauren had recently moved to Myrtle Beach, SC for a change of pace after graduating college. During this time, Cotie was on vacation with his childhood friend, Joseph, and his family in the same area. They were both fairly new to the dating apps at the time because dating in person was not an option. Their love story started with Cotie sending Lauren a message about eating chicken nuggets together and the rest was history. Even though it took Lauren a lot of convincing to go on their first date to the beach (she was terrified of COVID), she eventually caved. And on the second date, she finally got her chicken nuggets.

Please note: The Myrtle Beach International Airport is 38 miles (~50 minute drive) North of the Wedgefield Country Club. A car will need to be rented to travel from the airport to the wedding venue.

We have reserved rooms at The George Hotel in downtown Georgetown. Our group code expires on August 10, 2025. Please be sure to book through this link to get our group discount before that date!

There are a few on-site cottages available for rental. These cottages are unable to be booked directly through the public website as our venue is holding them for our guests until July 13. Please reach out to either Cotie or Lauren and we can reach out to the venue on your behalf to get one of the cottages booked!

Is there a dress code?
Answer
Yes! We encourage all guests to dress in cocktail attire.
Question
Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Yes! The Wedgefield Country Club will have free on-site parking available for all guests. If you are staying in The George Hotel and plan to drink alcohol during the reception, we encourage guests to make arrangements with a taxi service (ex: Uber, Lyft) to bring you back to the hotel after the reception.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?
Answer
Our wedding ceremony will be unplugged, meaning we do not want pictures to be taken during the ceremony. When the ceremony concludes, we encourage everyone to take pictures.
