During her time at UGA, Laura lived with a friend of David's from high school. Through that common connection, they became friends and saw each other from time to time at social events. They even went on a group spring break trip to Florida together (later on, Laura completely forgot that David was there, an offense he'll never let her live down). Never more than casual friends at the time, they went their separate ways after college, got married and settled down. The universe had other ideas, however, and would bring them back together years later. After both divorcing, they matched on a dating app in the summer of 2020. They had their first date at Fritti in Inman Park (where they now live together) and the rest was history. Fast forward to the fall of 2021, and I guess you could say things were getting pretty serious. David moved into Laura's apartment in November and took up residence as her personal chef, a role he cherishes to this day. On a warm July afternoon in 2022, David invited Laura on a seemingly normal walk through the neighborhood. They strolled around Inman Park together, and after crossing a field of exceptionally tall grass, David got down on one knee under a large tree and asked Laura to marry him. Completely surprised, Laura said yes! David and Laura are thrilled to be married on May 4th, 2023 at a Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta, GA. On May 7th, they will fly to Scotland for a 10 day honeymoon. To top things off, upon returning stateside, they are excited to close on the purchase of their new home in the Lake Claire neighborhood. David and Laura couldn't be more excited about their next phase of life and are so grateful for all of their family and friends who make life special!
