The story begins in 2017 on the campus of Tennessee State University. La Toria and Isaac were both members of TSU’s Aristocrat of Bands and met in passing on the practice field. Even though they rarely exchanged words, they both had taken notice of each other. It was the kind of friendly relationship that didn’t require words but just a presence. After reaching out to get her number from a friend of a friend, Isaac started texting Tori and never stopped. Texting led to phone calls, then daily FaceTimes, and eventually, they spent so much time together on campus that they became inseparable. From lunch dates in the TSU cafe, to 2AM trips to Walmart, to late night conversations in the car until the sun rose, they fell fast and hard for each other. Their love was made official on November 10th, 2017 and has prospered ever since. Their first date was a stroll through the Gaylord Opry Hotel to see the Christmas lights. A simple and free date for broke college students but a meaningful one they would never forget. “When we have the money we should stay here for a vacation, maybe an anniversary trip” they agreed, planting a seed that would flourish 7 years later when Isaac recreated their first date and proposed to La Toria on their anniversary in the Gaylord Opry Hotel. Afterwards he surprised her with a magnificent dinner surrounded by their closest friends and family, and a weekend stay in one of Opry’s best rooms. (See proposal video above!!) After 8 years together through ups and downs, laughter and tears, and every adversity life has thrown at them, they have remained devoted to each other and are ready to take the next step.
